I just found out today that I am pregnant with my second child. Havnt gone to the doc or anything yet. However I took two pregnancy tests and they were very positive. My first son is only 16 months old, so by the time my 2nd baby is born he will be barely 2 yrs old... I am just curious if other moms with babies this close in age was do-able? Or did ya'll lose your marbles? I am also scared that my first son will get jealous and well...hate me :(
any ideas??

Thanks you

i promise it is doable and not all that out of the ordinary...get prepared now and spend as much time as you can with number one now...start reading or googling about having babies close together to hear the pros and the cons so you can prepare..you are woman you can do anything...congratulations...ps i was a mom of two under two and we all survived just fine!

Quoting Nicole:

I have three children when Ihad my youngest which is my daughter my two boys were 5 and 2 years and a half ish. I think it's just all about occuping them at first and just make sure when the little one is born that any sparetime you get rest and cuddle with your other children. My son was a little bit jealous but I just got him involved with taking care of the baby he was so excited to help give her a bath or pass me the diapers and wet ones. It can be stressful at times but you'll get through it, you will do fine :)

yeah! once you let the older ones help, they feel so big and important-- and they really ARE a help most of the time!! My girls (3 and 2) sit with the baby in the boppy and feed her a bottle while I do the laundry!!

lol, I was pregnant within 3 months after having my first and was super terrified! but as it turns out, when they are that close in age they become best friends ♥ my oldest 2 play together ALL THE TIME, and it is actually EASIER to get things done once the second one can sit up and crawl because they entertain each other :) We just had number 3 and its hard the first few months all over-- but the girls just ADORE her and I know that its going to be the same with the 3 of them :)

i have an 8 month old and i am 7 months pregnant with my second. i know its gonna be hard but i have heard that when you have more then 1 it is easier to get a scedule down, also since thery will be so close they can grow up with eachother and play together hopefully giving me time to myself.

Ok so my boys are almost 28 months apart! Andrew is my oldest now 3 and Devin is my youngest now 8 months! I think it starts when you find out you are pregnant, get your son involved! Take him to visits, with another adult to watch him, but when they do the ultrasounds let him see the baby tell him the parts and definitely let him feel the baby kick! My son gave kisses to my belly all the time! :) Andrew was actually in the delivery room when I gave birth! Mos would say that is inappropriate, but Andrew LOVED it! He got to hold him and watched him get weighed and bathed! He really really loved it! When we brought Devin home Andrew feed him bottles and with help caught on quickly! Now that Devin is crawling they crawl up and down my hall playing dinosaurs! It is do-able your motherly instinct will take over! It is a wonderful thing! Good luck and have fun! You have other things to worry about this isn't one of them!
