i had 2 sweeps one to try to start things off as bubs was few days late then that actually made me lose my mucas plug for 3 days then i had to have another one to be booked into the hospital to be induced the next day but after the second one it triggered my labour within 20 mins and 4 hours later i had her, was so thankful for it. my first one did hurt a bit as i was only 2 cm dilated but me second one didnt hurt as i was dilated more. lol they saved me being induced, good luck

I had mine at 37+3, gave birth 2 days later. It's really no big deal, I'd do it again. Hurts a hell of a lot less than induced labor, Pitocin is a bitch (or so I've been told).

Hi,

I had one done.. Its a bit uncomfortable but within 24 hours I was in labour :)

it was actually painful. My doctor didn't tell me he was doing it until I was like crying and asking what the hell was going on. Needless to say, it did absolutely nothing. I would never have it done again.

I had it done with 3 of my pregnancies. I found it as uncomfortable as a pap smear. I do think that it helped things along though :)

It burns a little and there is some spotting afterward but all around its not two terrible. I had it done at like 3 o'clock and had contractions that night at about 10. It's more uncomfortable than anything.

I totally suggust having it done....thats what put me into labor...i was six days late and they did it at my last appointment sent me home and was supposed to be induced the next morning but started labor that night....yea it was uncomfortable but its nothing that they arent goin to be doin once you actually go into labor anyway

you dont need to take it if they ask. i didnt want one done and i still went into labor at 41weeks 4days. it started naturaly.

they did sweep me when i was in labor though. it was very uncomfy but not painful.

i sugest if you do have it done to take a pad to put in your undies as it could be a little messy after.

I never got one done but was offered it and asked around to see what other people thought of it, overall everyone said it was very uncomfertable and some people said that it was actually sore. Aparantly its only sore if your cervix arnt ripe. Its not gauranteed it will work either. So i decided against it because im a bit of a baby :P Hope this helps a little :) good luck xo

It was very uncomfortable. it can cause infection and isnt guaranteed to work. Google it.
