9 days overdue contraction start at 4pm wednesday. very painful as baby was back to back. i dilated very slowly. they gave me a sweep to loose my plug then broke my waters, gave me a drip to speed things up, although by the time i was 10cm and ready to push id already been in labour 36 hours aand it was now 4am on the friday (11days over due by now). pushed for 1 and a half hours but because she was back to back she wasnt coming down very well....so they gave me a 2nd degree episiotomy and stuck a vaccum to her head. they pulled the vaccum as i pushed and pop out she came at 5.30am after a 37 1/2 hour labour.

8lb 5oz and 20.5 inches long....she was born a bit ill so spent a week in NICU and my episiotomy stitches got infected so i had to have two lots of anti-biotics for a month and the wound had to heal as an open wound with no stitches.

shes now a healthy 1 year old and her sister is due on the 28th of may!! so im due to pop again in 11days.....really hope this time is a little faster.

first of all, my obgyn had acrylic long nails (i didn't know at the time) and i had her check me to see if I was dialted any...I was a 2. Apparently since her nails were so long, she most likely set off my labor. Then I was having contractions for a day or two, they were few minutes apart but weren't painful at all...my mom wanted to take me to the hospital anyways. When I got there they told me I'd most likely go home cos my contractions weren't strong enough but once they checked me they were like "you're going no where." I was a 5 or 6. Then a couple hours later the doc checks me again and accidentally breaks my water. When I was given the option to have an epidural I took it although my contractions really weren't that bad at that point (just in case you know?) Then they decided to give me pitocin an hour or so later to speed up my delivery. I was feeling kind of sleepy and when the nurse checked my temperature it was pretty high. So I had to deal with that the whole entire time. With the epidural I really could not feel anything at all and luckily they checked and his head was already showing. It took me 30 mins to push him out. Once he was out though I knocked out due to the fever. I had to be put on antibiotics and had to stay in the hospital for 3 days before him and me could go.
My ex came up for the birth (although he missed it by 3 days; shin was born 1 1/2 week early). he had me walking everywhere so i was very, very sore and wasn't resting like i was suppose to. although i did lose the weight pretty fast and i'm pretty much the size i was before.

my son was late by a week and i got contracts at midnight watching george lopez. i went to the hospital and found out i was 2 centimeters dilated they gave me something to sleep and sent me home, i woke up the next day around 1 and the contractions were still there. i waited around and walked and then at 6pm i went back to the hospital and i was 4 centimeters so they hooked me up to the machines and stuff.
as the contractions went on i had the worst back labor; so painful. the doctor came in and gave my the epidural and it worked for about 5 minutes and then i could feel everything again so they came in 20 minutes later and gave me a second epidural it again worked for about 5 minutes and stopped. so the nurse took it out. i wasn't dilating any so the doctor came in and broke my water, about a little while later I finally was dilated fully and it was time to push. the first push i gave i threw my sons father halfway across the room then my sister and my mom held my legs and neither of them moved at all. after 2 hours of straight pushing, i was hooked up to oxygen i couldnt breath and i began passing out. the doctor realized my son was stuck between my pelvic and cocyx bone i was to small to have my baby natural so they took my down to get a c section. they got me and the room and they were preforming the spinal block it took them 4 trys to finally get it and it made my leg go completely numb, after that the c section went smoothly and my little man was born at 12:23 am febuary 1st (superbowl sunday the steelers won, woot woot) he was 6 lbs. 7 1/2 oz. and was 16 1/2 inches long and gorgeous. I'd do it all again to have him!!!

I was 8 day past my due date. My waters broke naturally @ 7am in the morning on july 8th 2009 i didnt get my first contraction til midday i was started on the contraction enducing drug at 3pm because i wasnt progressing fast enough and because when i got to the hospital they didnt do a certain test they did an internal so they were forced by oligation to bascially induce me. through out the day there were 3 midwife changes and they all did internals all to tell me i was 2 cms dialted then 1 cm and then 2. Now i knew that i couldnt be 2cm and then 1cm so i was expressing my anger towards the hospital that day lets just say quite a few foul languaged words came out my mouth.

I was getting contractions on top of eachother for hours, i had an epidural @ 8pm at 10:05 pm i was still only 2 cms dialated and not even fully effaced. They had lost my bubs heartbeat and i was rushed for an emergency ceaser. At 10:25 a held my beautiful 8 pound 7 ounce 55 cm long baby boy in my arms and it was magical. and worth the trouble. When they said they lost my bubbies heart beat my heart sank and being rushed down those halls to the op table were the worst, it felt like a million years. and teh moment i heard him scream my life was complete! hes now 10 months and is as cheeky as can be!!

i also had my water break and had to have contractions induced. they kept losing my son's heartbeat and when i went on the epidural they almost had to take me off because he initially slowed down his bvreathing. also whenever i pushed his breathing would slow down so they had a breathing specialist for when he came out. he also kept trying to turn sideways and they had to keep moving him back and i tore really bad

Both my children were born face up, so the spine was rubbing up against the birthing canal. With my first, the doctor said it's one of the most painful vaginal births (yeah cause thats EXACTLY what I wanted to hear after 22 hours of labor) and it's not that common. Well, it must run in my family cause it was the same with my second and my sister had it to. She got a c-section and I had to have episeatomys (I can't spell) and probably will for all my children. I had a block with my first so I really didn't feel much pain, with my second I didn't get it in time so it did nothing...yeah I don't recommend natural births!

i think my labor was one of the worst i was in labor 72 hours 28 mins... no medicine all natural... attempted to push baby came out to his shoulders then stopped breathing then the midwife decides the best place for the baby was back in me as if pushing him out wasnt hard enough... putting him back in hurt worse... then had a c- section where everything that could go wrong did go wrong... i had 2 seizures, blacked out father passed out... i was cold and very uncomfortable... then when my baby got here he had to be rushed to intensive care... did not see him until 3 days later... then when i did see him he was not what i expected... then the hospital would not let me leave until i could walk and had a bm and neither one sounded fun but i did it and came home with a healthy lil boy so i thought... had complications at home... 2 holes in his heart and 3 holes inhis stomach... bad but its worth it now to see his lil smile every morning and every night

I was induced right from the start. My waters were broken for me. I had an epi but was still able to feel the sensation to push right at the end. Everything went fine until the placenta wouldn't come out. It eventually did and my uterus contracted straight away but it didn't fall back into the pelvis, it was right up under my right ribs. It did go back to normal but it took a while. After that I bled very heavily and passed a few clots the size of tennis balls then one the size of a soccor ball. I was put on a drip for low blood pressure and I couldn't stand up. It took about 6 weeks for me to beable to sit down comfortably and a further few months for everything to go back to normal.
