Im about to start college for dental lab tech this fall. Im a mother of 1 with a toddler. What am I really getting myself into? Homework and toddler...any tricks making this possible? Obviously I plan on staying awake during naps for studing, how are you doing your homework? My husband is a trucker...so I see him for a week every 2 months. Need to learn these tricks now. Any suggestions?

Pretty much what everyone else said, you have to find time when you toddler is content and playing or sleeping to do some work in between house work and whatever else you have to do. Ask for what ever help you can get from him when he is there.

I started my first year at University when my daughter was just three months old. I look after her and work online when she is happily playing with her things. I play with her in my breaks and do all my readings when she is napping. At night I work on my assignments. It's hard but it's managable

I went back to school after i had my daughter, and really at first it takes some adjusting to but if you kid takes long naps it's a good time to study or write an essay, usually when my daughter was awake id read to her and have the questions out so i can knock them both out at the same time, I also learned that after they fall asleep it's major homework time. And if your doing homework and the little one is awake with u u can always give them paper to draw and they sometimes pretend that they are doing what your doing its also a great study skill to give them when they are young ;)

I went back to school when my son was a year old. His birthday is September 5th so I started literally days after. Homework is usually done after bed time, although sometimes its possible to squeeze in a bit here and there while he's awake. I've done two years now and he's gotten used to the fact that sometimes mommy has to do schoolwork and he entertains himself.

My son is 11 months i put on classical baby music or his favorite tv show while I do my work to distract him, and since he likes to grab on my laptop and books. I buy him books like hardcover the big ones and some small ones. It distracts him because it makes him think he's doing what i am doing. It gives me about 45 minutes or and hour before he wants something else. Another trick is to built him/her a little fort with there toys, with little toys hidden in places. This may work best it gives him playtime and you may look up and find him sleep. The fort is the best trick i ever thought of.

Although my daughter is only two months old, i read my books to her wen shes awake and do my work during the very few naps she does take.I try to involve her in my work like wen im doing math for example ill tell her if 24 times 2 is 48 then im going in for a tickle!! i also feed her with one hand and do work with the other while telling her wat i read...it distracts her from crying :)
