My nieces are Gavriel (like Gabriel with a v instead of a b), Sophina, and Lenaya.
I love how they sound like princess names, but sill can be given cute, short, modern nicknames.
Gavriel-Gavi, (age 16)
Sophina-Sophi (age13)
Lenaya-Lena or, Lay Lay (age 11)

My son's name is Eoin (pronounced Owen) and my daughter is Kyla. My husband is Irish so we looked for Gaelic/Irish names.

My daughters' names are: Eilonwy (I-lawn-wey) which is Old Welsh or Brythonic Gaelic, Caelan (Kay-lun) which is Scottish Gaelic, and Muirealle (Muir-ree-yull) which is an old Irish Gaelic spelling and pronunciation of Muriel. They all also have two middle names in honor of my father whose name was Richard James Robert.

My son's name is Cohen. While it is more commonly known as a last name, I just liked the sound of it. People often ask me (especially older people) if my son has Jewish heritage, as it is obviously a traditionally Jewish last name...but no, I just liked it! I'm "Amy", and I' ve never been the only Amy in a classroom or office, so I wanted something original for my son, but not so original he'd be ridiculed.

Bella-Peach is the name of my daughter. Bella is popular but people have question her middle tons of times "Are you from down south?"- no im actually not. "What are you, some kind of hippie?"- ehh some qualities, but no I'm not a hippie. Bella-Peach just has that ring to it. I love the name; it's cute and I believe it suits my daughter ever well.

We have Luciano which is common in Italy but not as much here I have only met a very few. Serendipity I have only met what and the chic spelled it really weird, when we named here there were only 3 Serendipity registered with Social Security. Then we have Bellatessa thats totally our own creation it translates into beautiful princess in Italian. We live unusual and uncommon names.

My eldest's name is Torelle. She gets Tori for short. I always liked Tori but don't like Victoria as they usually end up with Vicki instead of Tori but think Tori should be short for something and not just a name by itself so I came up with Torelle. My second daughter's name is Erian. Her dad named her and I liked it so we stuck with it. My son's name is Rowyn. Not real unusual but the spelling is a little different and I don't know any other kids around his age with that name at all. He's native american and it's Gaelic (my heritage) for "little red one". My step daughter's names are Ayla and Lotus. I have heard them before but they still aren't very common. We don't know what these ones are but have picked a few names we like that are unusual. For boys we like Tywin and Pheonix and for girls we like Indica and Hendrix or Aria. We will decide on names once we know what they are. (Triplets due Dec, coming Oct/Nov)

Kayla Kramer, is ayvah pronounced eye-vuh? Or ae-vuh?
The spelling looks to me like eye vuh but there is a common name 'Ava' and maybe it's a different spelling of that?
It's not obvious how it's said. Unfortunately. So don't get mad when people say it wrong!

Hartley is a cool name :) like that! Haevyn not so much my style, but im just not fond of random 'y's thrown in names :)

My sons name is Riddley Cooper Carmody. I came up with the name from a movie called dungeons and dragons. I really liked the character in the move named Ridley and his name. I used the alternate spelling as well. Cooper was an old family name from my great great grandfather he lost his left leg in the battle of vimy ridge. The last name was my ex bf's mother’s maiden name that he was going to change his last name to but never did. I considered changing his last name but it is such a nice name I decided to keep it.

My eldest - who is nearly 33 - is named Lisanne Marie. Next came Suzanne Alane, then Kara Michelle. None of these were common when they were born, but neither were they so strange as to be outrageous. As it is, they all had trouble with people getting their names wrong.
Lisanne became Lisa Anne, Liz Anne,
Suzanne became Susan
Poor Kara became Carol. Karo , Karen, Karla, Kera,

I have a Jordan Paul James Storm,
Sophie Lief Polly Trinity,
Isaac Jack Paolo River
and Alisha Kiara Lilly Raine

I wanted more normal first names because I don't see the point in unusual spellings. However for the middles names I was allowed to be a little more adventurous. Jordan chose 1 of each of his siblings names. Hubby chose 1 and I chose the other. The 1st names we agreed on together though.

my youngest daughter is Saari - my mother came up with it.

the sari is the dress hindu women wear. 'saari', in finnish, means 'island'. since her father is a hindu from trinidad, it fits perfectly.

(doesn't hurt that it is often mis-heard as "sorry" and you can't get more canadian than that!)
