My daughter's birthday is right next to christmas. How should I celebrate her birthday so Christmas still seems exciting, even though she's only going to be 1

I like that idea. I was worried that people would try jipping her out of gifts! Haha!

This is a tricky one. My oldest is a Christmas baby and we have a small family celebration on his actual birthday. The other party can be held whenever. We've even done half birthdays for him once or twice. My birthday is a few days after. My Mom would take the tree down on th 26th so that my birthday was more normal. Also, when she gets a little older, ask people to get her 2 smaller things instead of trying to combine it into one gift. For little ones, the more the better!

my moms birthday is on christmas day and her parents just celebrated it just before or just after so she could celebrate both!

No problem, but as she gets older and starts to understand about birthdays and realize, then you can explain to her when her real birthday is and why you celebrated it when you did...thats what my aunt did and like i said, now they're 14 and they know when their real birthday is and they know that their parents celebrated earlier so that they would be able to have their special day along with Christmas rather than having them together

Thanks for helping! That sounds like a good idea; however, I would be afraid of her not knowing when her birthday is when she gets older!

hey...my aunt has twin boys and their birthday is only 2 days before Christmas. They're 14 now so they do it all together but what they used to do is instead of celebrating their birthday on the 23rd of December, they would celebrate it on the 23rd of November. Or some years they would celebrate their birthdays towards the beginning of December. That way they would get their birthdays as well as Christmas and they would come to recognize the difference between the 2 important days. Good luck
