I breastfed both my children because it was personal choice to do so. I was 16 when I had my first child and felt that it was what I wanted to do. I have just recently had another baby at 31 ( LONNG STORY lol) and felt it was something I wanted to do again. If you feel that you want to breastfeed, but are uncomfortable with the idea, you can always try a pump. This way your husband can help you as well with feedings, and you are still able to give the baby the good things that come from breast milk itself. If you decide that its just really not for you, there are alot of great formulas out there as well. Deciding to breastfeed is a very personal decision, A lot of women simply can't or choose not to do it. The only advice I can give you is to research your optioins. Find out the reasons why breastfeeding is good, and also look at different formulas to find out which you feel would be the best for your baby's nutritional needs. Either way, good luck with your new little one and hth :)

I believe that it is something we should all atleast try. whether you feel comfortable or not it is a natural way to provide the nutrients to your new born and helps you the mother recover faster after birth. I breastfed for 10 weeks and wish I could have for longer. I had complications and my milk dried up. This time around I know a lot more then I did first time around so there are many things I intend to do differently. I will be breastfeeding for a minimum of 6 months and I won't give up.

I breastfeed...this is my first daughter, I love it!
its the most natural thing you can give your baby. baby's are less prone to certain things that could affect a baby who wasnt breastfed...like diabetes and obesity? that's waht I read anyways...and ear infections...its more convenient, to me...don't have to wake up in the middle of the night to get a bottle :D LOL. it tastes different to the baby rather then the same formula taste...

I just think about how its the best thing for her.
& a plus for you, you lose calories just breastfeeding...

my husband wanted me to breastfeed with our only son. i didn't really feel comfortable doing it but gave it a shot for 2 months anyways because the pump broke (not exclusively though, i supplemented with formula). after 2 months i still hated it so i stopped. i would say give it a fair shot, at least a month, and thgen if u still feel weird about it stop

I tried breastfeeding with my first but he fought me every step of the way. After two weeks of sore, cracked, bleeding nipples I gave up. I wanted to do it so badly and I cried myself to sleep many a time over guilt for months, but now I know that a bottle is best for my son. He slept better and seemed so much happier with the bottle. Try breastfeeding if you really want to and make sure that everyone around you is very supportive. But don't feel guilty if you try it and don't like it, or if you don't make enough milk. Feeling guilty will only make things worse.

Im pregnant with my first, and I plan on breast feeding. If your not comfortable with it than you shouldn't be pressured into doing anything you aren't sure on. I plan on getting a breast pump so that my Baby's father will be able to feed him...Im not comfortable with breast feeding in public and thats why the breast pump is one of the first things I put on my registry...lol...Whatever you choose though will be what you feel is right and thats all that matters

I couldnt breast feed my son, its a stupidly long story but in the end he ended up being a soy milk boy lol Im not pregnant but i know i wont be able to feed my next baby. I loved that my partner got the chance to give our son his first feed and have that bond with him, its not something most dads have the chance to do, maybe if there was some way i could feed our next baby i would choose not too. Bottle feeding had so many advantages for us (even though of cause breast is best), to be honest i dont know what i would do.
