I breast fed for 6 weeks then I bottle fed. It was a hard decision but better for the both of us. I want to know what you have done and the outcome of it??

Everybody knows breast is best. I began with sore cracked nipples so I pumped and bottle fed breast milk then once they healed we tried very hard to get him to latch again and that went fine then I got mastitis and I dont know if anybody else reading has had it but it is the worst thing ever and very stressful. That healed up and then I got it again and I did not want to risk getting it one more time. not only was I stressed but I was exhausted and very emotional. I wish I could have continued breast feeding and I was determined not to give up the first time but it all became too much. I moved 9 hours drive away from home when my son was 4 days old, (it took us 16 hours due to stopping to feed which was hard) where I had no mother or friends or a familiar midwife to rely on, just my husband and my new midwife who was wonderful but did make me feel bad when I stopped breastfeeding. Between unpacking and trying to get settled into a new environment and dealing with a newborn with my husband away at work all day long, it was hard!!!

Science has come a long way from when formular was first introduced and I have no regrets though, my son is healthy and strong and gained weight awesomely. 6 weeks was more than enough to strengthen his immunity. hopefully now that the stress in my life has decreased breast feeding my next baby will be a breeze!

Hi, as for me I think that it's better to breastfeed cause with milk our children get all the necessary elements and immunity, if you want you may consult here https://saymommy.com/mom_420_preparing-breastfeeding.html good luck!!!

I nursed my older son for six weeks, then switched to the bottle. My younger son, we worked like hell to get him to latch (he was born "tongue-tied"), so I refused to give up easily, lol. I remember staring him down one night and saying, "We are going to get this right for both of us, daggone it!" He just looked at me solemnly. ;) We breast fed for nearly six months, although I pumped also after I returned to work, so he was bottle-fed breast milk at some points. I wish we could have done it longer, but things got so crazy at work that I was missing pumping for entire days...not fun or comfortable! ;)

I breastfeed my daughter for 18 months. I worked great for use and it was 5 times cheaper for use and it was great

I had an easy pregnancy and it was easy to tell people that I was strictly going to breast feed, but after birth, I was so wiped out, every moment I tried to sleep, they brought her in saying she hungry. In the back of my mind I thought didn't I just feed her? I was breastfeeding for 30 minutes every 20 minutes. She preferred one breast over the other and I preferred the other one because it wasn't as painful. I breast fed for the hospital stay (2 days) then bottle fed a little bit, I got a breast pump and I spent an hour on that thing with barely any milk coming out. I called my mom who came over to inspect the pump, she flipped a switch then all of a sudden nothing but pressure, but the milk was coming out so much faster. In a half hour I was producing 8 ounce of milk. I pumped off and on for a week before I didn't want to do it anymore. My daughter spit up breast milk but not formula, so I thought she just didn't like the breast milk. If I would have kept with it, the pain would have gone down and I really wish I had kept with it, even though I know why I gave up...I just regret doing that. But If I hadn't put her on formula, I wouldn't have been able to stand waking at all hours of the night. She started ''hating'' daddy and wouldn't allow him to feed her. Then when she was a little older and got teeth I was glad I wouldn't have to deal with her biting me. If I could do it over again, I would have kept pumping and feeding through the bottle since that was way more comfortable and cheaper, we hadn't counted on spending hundreds of dollars on formula.
