To you who understand,
I don't know what motivated me to sit and speak of my experience. Words really don't summarize the past 25 months of my maternity, the first 9 of which my son had not yet arrived. My former teenage self now an apparition; the only thing left is my backbone, necessary, I feel, for all mothers, especially teen mothers. My human experience is very real, we should all right books...us and the "baby daddies", with alternating sections, first our point of view, and then theirs. New York Times bestseller ....

Story is too long. Needless to say, I'm married to my "baby daddy", 30 lbs overweight, finishing up my last year at UT austin with a degree in Neurobiology while my bd finishes his degree in Finance at UT's business school. I'm graduating "on time"....you know "time" in the "normal" progression of life...psh...I'm not proud.

My son is completely ours; we live on our own and raise him by ourselves. This is the only way we've ever wanted it. I am applying to medical school and will get in because of my GPA, MCAT score, and my perspective on life which other chicklings our age don't have.

Good luck to you all, when in doubt remember we all ultimately live and die. Stick to the things that matter.

I'd say you have plenty to feel proud about. You're a good role model for other teenage mums who may feel like they can't study or make it because they have a child. People tend to give the impression that once you have a child your life is over. Which isn't true it's just harder. You've done well and I wish you all the best of luck on getting into medical school.
