Okay, my daughter is 3 months old and I am wondering if I should start giving her a little bit of rice cereal. She usually has 6 sometimes 7 bottles of formula a day all 2 and a half to 3 hours apart. Each bottle she has is roughly 6 to 7 ounces. I'm concerned that if shes eating so much at a time it could stretch her stomach.. time to start rice cereal or should I still wait?

I started to give my son baby food and rice cereal in the bottle the day he turn 3 months. At 5 month i change him into whole milk.. My doctor that his doctor too said that fine nothing is gonna happen to him. I stop feeding him formula at 6 months. I started real food at 6 months. My son is so healthy.

Your baby's digestive system isn't mature enough to handle solid foods yet. Also, adding baby cereal to a bottle can cause you baby to choke. Just listen to your baby's hunger cues. If she is hungry enough to be eating this much formula thats ok. If you're still concerned you should talk to your pedi.

In my opinion you should wait. 6-7 ounces every 2.5-3 hours is normal for her age and it's not going to stretch her stomach but rather provide her with the nutrition that she needs. There are several reason to wait to introduce soilds, health reasons being the most important. You can read all about this online these days. It never hurts to better educate yourself for the well being of your child. Best wishes!

Do not put the ceral in the in the bottle! That is no good. Try and feed it to her. If she is not ready she will let you know.. just make the ceral soupy

u shouldnt put rice cereal in a baby's bottle. my son was very hungry all the time, at 3 months having 8oz milk every 2 hours. i gave him a tiny bit of cereal off a spoon & he was soon having less milk.

its fine 2 give her b aby rice in her bottle she will be full for longer but her onces of bottle dont change... are u giving her hungrier baby formula i put my baby on it at 3 months but ask your health nurse first
