i went into labor on january 2, 2010. i had my son 01-03-10.... but i was in the hospital till february 5, 2010. due to complications and needing lots of surgery.... BAD SITUATION

i was in there for 6 days cause i had pre-eclampsia and my blood pressure would drop after i had her...and she had bad jaundice so was on the fototherapy bed 4 a day

Less than 12hours. I wanted to leave half an hour after giving birth but my son had to be checked over before I could go.

I am in tennessee and I had my baby wit an epi on 2-22-10. At 7:12pm. Went home at 8pm 2-23-10. so bout 24 hours.

About 3 days. I was booked in to have my c-section on a wednesday and was released from hospital first thing saturday morning. This was in Kalgoorlie ( Western Australia)

I was in for five days, because i had an emergency c-section and my son was in the special care nursery for three days.

i live in brisbane, australia and you can leave whenever you please but they like/recommend at least a 24hour stay. well, at the hospitals near me anyways. :)

With my first we went home the next day. With my second I had an emergency pre-term c-section. I had to stay 3 days and my son 9! :-(

With my daughter I was in the hospital for a week and then in Care by Parent for a week, but that was because I had an emerg c-section. I had my son a week and 2 days ago, I had him at 10 to 12am and was out of the hospital at 130 -200 pm!

Five or six days, but that's not a typical stay. My daughter had latching/feeding problems.

2 days they wanted to keep me longer but I was like no way. I need to leave I have been here for 5 almost 6 days and wasnt aloud to go outside and get some fresh air. I had a C Section.

i had twins..i had an emergency c-section and was in the hospital for 3 days..my boys and i went home at the same time..but i couldn't leave until i could walk by myself..[which i could barely do]..if i shall say so..i think they should have kept me a couple more days!!

I was in hospital with my first for a month. after a emergency c-section and maconium in his lungs he was in nicu on oxygen. my second was a c-section and we stayed for 3 days.

I spent 2 weeks in hospital with my first as had a failed epidural that kind of confused my bladder and so had to stay for it to repair itself and my youngest I had her in the evening and was home the next morning. After the first I said I really didnt want to stay in hospital again, but after such a stressful time I think a least a couple of days is good to just spend that time only having to deal with your baby and not the other stresses of life.

i was in the hospital for 3 days because i had a c-section . i waas'nt alowed to do anything i had to stay in bed couldnt even go to the bathroom or barely hold my son with out hurting .

i was in for 4 days, had an emergency c section as he was breech. i wasnt allowed to move out of the bed for 24hours

i was in the hospital for 1 day. i had my son at 1135pm and at 9am the next morning they were asking me if i wanted to go home! i said no and stayed another night. after i had my daughter they which was at 605 in the am they asked me the next day if i wanted to go home and i said yes...i should have stayed an extra night to get some rest. once i got it was go go go!

It should all depend on the labour, the baby and if u;ve had kids before... Some people are out in 24hrs other stay in for anywhere up to 2weeks... I had Maia at 36, 2days and i was in for 3days.

well in NSW, Aus its 5 days... and thats for a normal first birth. Hopefully next time around it will be a day...

I had my son Jace on February 13th at 4:54 pm and was released by 6 pm on February 14th! so a little over 24 hours. It went by so quick I wish I had stayed longer and I could have stayed one more night if I wanted but I couldn't get comfortable in the bed and just wanted to be home.

about a week.. i went in labor the monday of they sent me home saying it was fauls labor. went back that friday around 10 am they finally admited me around 2 i think. was in labor till 2:35 pm the day. had to have an emerceny c section cuz they let me go to long with my water broke.. it was like six or more hours after my water broke did they decide to do anything. my son was coming right side up and i wouldnt dilate past a 9.5. and wen they did the c- sec i had a very high temp blacked out and the meds they gave to not feel the pain of the surgry didnt work. i didnt get to see my son cuz as soon as they had him out i stopped breathing. about three hours later i finally saw him.. but they kept us so long cuz i lost too much blood and he wasnt breathing right. the doc said if they hadnt waited so long none of this would have happened. lol but that how long i stayed. till the following wednestday or thursday after i gave birth. Then went to prom that friday.. just grandmarch but lol

I was in there for 2 days after my son was born. I went in wednesday night (3/3/10 @ 10pm) and delivered my son on Thrusday morning (3/4/10 @ 11:52am) and then got discharged Saturday morning.

A week - had an attempted induction (failed) so had to have emergency c-section ... bub had complications and i was unable to leave cuz my bubby couldn't.



I'm in Aust. and it's only 2 days - 4 days (depending on how you gave birth) at all the hospitals in Brisbane that I looked into.

I wish it was so soon over here... it sucks, it was the worst feeling being away from home. I think its so long here because the Dr's and nurses make sure that breast feeding is established before you leave and to make sure you won't have any further complications with bleeding or stitches.

I know this lady who recently gave birth, she was in labour for 4 hours, pushed for 30 mins, had the perfect labour and delivery, I think all she had was pethidine. She was in for a week!

Hi there im from nz I was in labour 30 hours plus and didn't go into hospital until about the 24th hour I gave birth at 1.23pm o a 9lb 8oz baby boy all naturally and was out of there by 7am the next morning

i was in the hospital for 3 days i think because when they did my epidural the did something called a wet tap where they stuck the needle too far in my back so instead of it being in the epidural spot it went into my spinal fluid and then i got what they called a spinal head ache and it hurt so bad i couldnt even sit up with out it feeling like there was a anvil or giant weight on my head but they did a blood patch where they took 10 cc's of blood out of my arm and put it in the spot where they went to far and its supposed to stop my spinal fluid from leaking out, so i had to lay flat for like an hour and it sucked so bad, but afterwards i was fine just a lil sore, the birth part was easy i was induce at 7 am and my daughter was born at 2 pm that day it took 5 minutes to push her out

had my son on 28/1/09 (royal preston hospital) -- transferred to a different hospital on 30/1/09 for help with my breastfeeding (chorley midwife led unit .. had more 1:1 care there as it smaller .. they were sooo much nicer wish i gave birth there!!)

and we came home on 31/1/09 (the day before his due date which was 1/2/09)

wow 5 days in oz? im in nz and we just get 2 days. i went to a birthing centre it was nice, but by the 2nd day i was ready for home. in saying that tho, my baby was the perfect feeder from day one...if u were having trouble i guess two days isnt enough, especially as ur milk isnt even in by then

oh ok im guessing neither were in Aus?? Here they don't generally let you out for atleast 5 days and thats if everything went perfect.. second time around they may let you go with in 24 hrs... I was in for 4 days, had an epi, haemorrage and wasn't allowed to get out of bed for over 24 hrs but still got out early lol

2 days! i went into labor 2 days after christmas had PJ 3 days after christmas (12/28) and was home just in time for New Years Eve :)
