babies don't have the control to get "overweight" unless your feeding her empty calories already like chips for example, which i'm guessing that you aren't. IF she is breastfed you produce enough milk that is right for each feeding so there is no way that she could over eat. If she is formula fed there have been studies shown that some babies become overweight but from the sound of it you're doctor is not very good at his job because my daughter was about that size at 3 months and I have a nephew who is 26 lbs at 10 months but is also very strong, meaning he is not overweight. You are just one of the few who are blessed with a very healthy baby :) I wouldn't be too worried about it.

my daughter was 6lbs 14oz at brith she'll be 3 months next week. at her appoint ment two weeks ago she was 11lbs 9oz so thats almost 5 lbs right there and that was two weeks ago! my son was 9lbs 8oz at birth by 3 months he was weighing over 15 as well! now my son is 19 months old and 32 lbs but he's over 3 feet tall. he started out kinda chubby and now he looks so scrawny! (he's perfectly healthy, eats like a horse)

some babies are bigger. i'd say 4 lbs in 3 months is fine. they say my girl is right in the normal for a baby her age but seriously with her rate of growth! would your doc perfer she doesn;t gain weight? don't worry to much. when she starts to crawl and things she won't be "overweight"

Are you breastfeeding your baby? Breastfed babies are always very fat and full of cute rolls! They are absolutely *not* overweight and all those adorable rolls go away once they start crawling and getting more active.

my daughter is 9 months and is 23 lbs. i have had 3 drs. tell me to put her on a sticked diet. but her regular dr. said its fine for babies to be chubby because they dont do anything. once they start to crawl (which ravynn does) and also walking, they will eventually start to even out. ravynn is getting taller so she is just now starting to even out.

when my baby was heading into the overweight band in the red book what midwife sed to me to do is strictly only feed him every four hours even if he is cryin for a bottle and also cut his night feed out so he dont get no feed in the night also even though he was hungary, and i thought to myself well i aint gunna starve my baby for the sake of him to get out of the overweight band its not fair on him so i carried on doin what i did beforhand. like i said i belive he will loose it when he crawls,

well, my little boy was 8 pounds 4 ounces when he was born, and at his one month check up he was 13 pounds and 6 ounces.. dr says thats perfectly fine and to just keep doing what i'm doing.. but thats a 5 pound gain in ONE month.. so maybe you should get a second opinion.

I have the same problem. My daughter is 2 months old and like 10 pounds 5 ounces or something like that. But when she was born she was 6 pounds 7 ounces. My pedi told me that she was over weight. Everyone has told me not to worry about it. SO I believe that your child is perfectly fine! Once your child starts crawling and such she will drop the chubby look :)

no your baby is NOT over weight if your baby is 6 months old and weight 50 lbs then yes but not if she is happy and healthy and does everything a baby her age would be doing. dont let anyone tell you that! if your doctor thinks so go see another doctor!!

I don't think she's overweight. Especially since she was so big when she was born. My little girl was 17 lb 3 oz when she was 3 months, and she was 8 lb 7 oz when she was born. She might be big for her age, but she was born very big. My doctor said the only reason she wasn't worried about my baby was because she was born big, me & her dad are both tall, and we were both big babies. I wouldn't be worried. 4 lb in 3 months is absolutely fine. Mine gained almost 8 1/2 lb in 3 months.

Health Care professionals are very worked up at being average across the board.... Like every baby has to follow the same chart and be the ideal weight. My daughter wasn't even on the chart so to speak...she was 5lbs 6oz at birth and at her well baby check up, she was in the 5th percentile. She is just little...healthy but small. I'm not concerned because she eats, the doctor I saw that time said she ate too much for a baby her size...lol. But, she was tiny. She didn't follow the norm.

Babies all will even out eventually... It doesn't matter if they were big at birth or small. I would go to a different doctor... Your daughter is 3 months...what did her doctor advise you do to get her to an "average" weight...let her starve?!? C'mon, she's a baby...

your doctors trippin. My baby was only like 8lbs at birth, and by 3 months he was like 15lbs. He's not even a year yet and he wears 2T almost 3T. But I'm Polynesian so we just generally have large kids.If your baby's healthy and happy don't worry about it. It's better than having a baby underweight because they usually just grow out of it and loose the baby fat.

I don't believe any infant who is not eating solids as a main part of their diet is ever overweight. Your daughter looks very healthy and happy!! I would find a new dr.

If you are very concerned with her weight maybe you should look into getting a different doctor. One who can work with you instead of working against you. If you really think about it she was a big baby to begin with so the doctor has to take that in consideration.

I hope this helped
