3 in her thighs.. She's screaming her head off, but the dr said to not give her tylenol because it can mask the effects of the shots?? She's not eating.. Any suggestions on what to do??

No tylenol!? My sons pediatrician told me to give him tylenol 30 mintues before his shots, and every 4 hours after that, as needed. The tylenol helps out a great deal. Shots are painful and the tylenol does wonders!

My pediatricians nurse told me my son couldn't have tylenol until 6mnths old unless he was runnin 100.4 fever in the rectum...but we give him tylenol anyway cause all he does is cry cause he is sick and it helps him sleep...he gets his first set of shots next monday :(...But she does need to eat and sleep so I would go with ur gut feelin.

I have been told to give tylenol before shots, and even before bed if they are really fussy. I use the infant drops and was told to use half the dropper until they are over 15 pounds and then to ask the doctor again how much to give.

Hmmm. My pedi told me i could give my son tylenol for his shots. I didnt give it to him though bc his shots didnt seem to bother him at all. Except for when they were actually giving him his shots. Some babies will get cranky and stuff though for a day or two after their shots. I would wait a few days and if she is not acting "normal" then i would call the doc. But it IS normal for a baby to not want to eat or play or anything after their shots...don't worry , there are plenty more to come. ha ha. My son is 15 months now and he's gotten plenty

my daughter got her 2nd set of shots today. 4 shots. she has been really fussy and whenever i would touch her legs she would scream. I gave her Infant Tylenol Drops. they helped her calm down and sleep. They're a help.

I asked my pediatrician and the nurse that comes to my house to visit my baby both about tylenol masking the effects of immunizations and they said there has been no conclusive evidence to suggest that. Go with your gut, if she needs to eat and needs to rest as bad as it sounds like she does then do it...if she can tough it out then let her but with her not eating I would be concerned and give it to her...she is probably starving and that's not helping her mood.

they give it to our babies 30 mins before they give the shots bc some can cause them to get seriously sick!

They said no tylenol bc it could mask the effects of the shot? My son's dr never told me that... they always said i could give him tylenol if it seems to be bothering him
