Hi! My name is Amanda and im somewhat new to Circle of Moms. I am mother to THE MOST amazing little girl I have ever known. My daughter, Rian (pronounced ryan), will be 1 on January 23 :) I am 17 years old, 18 in March. I got pregnant at 16 years old by the man that I am now engaged to. We have known eachother since I was about 7 years old :) I had my daughter via emergency c section due to a VERY severe case of Preeclampsia. My daughter was born a month and a half early. My life was changing drastically throughout my pregnancy, but it was a comment from my doctor that really put that shock into me that this is reality and that I need to thank God for everything he's given me. During my recovery, my doctor came in and told me that after reading over my test results, if I had missed the regular doc's appt where they detected the Preeclampsia, neither my daughter nor I would have made it another week because my body would have shut down due to the outrageously high protein levels and fatally high blood pressure. Hearing that really made me see life in a new light. I had this gorgeous, 4 lb baby girl that I just brought into the world, and even though she was in the NICU and on oxygen and a million different IVs and cords, she was the most wonderful thing I have ever seen in my entire life. I am proud to say that she is almost 1 year old and doing amazing!! I am taking my fiance's last name on April 24 of this year. He is starting training tomorrow at his small town's fire dept and will start Fire Academy in 6 months to become a firefighter. I, on the other hand, am an aspiring photographer with hopes to claim myself as a professional one day soon. Hi my names Jess,

I'm glad you and your little girl are alright now. You are very lucky you have a good doctor who picked up on it. My doctor was telling me how a young girl who was pregnant had perfect results on all her tests but one time her doctor (not mine thank god) didn't do a blood pressure test or any other tests again because it was the first time she showed slight changes and she ended up in a ambulence on the way to Melbourne (In Australia. I'm not sure where you are from) 7 hours after this and lost her baby and almost died. That is how quick it can come on.

A bit about myself. I have a son named Lachlan who will be 1 on the 18th of January. I fell pregnant when I was 17 to my partner Joel who I have been with for almost 4 years. I was doin my final year of VCE (year 12) when I found out I was pregnant. I kept going to school despite being the only pregnant girl there. It was tough but I knew I needed to do it now more than ever so that I make sure my little boy had the best possible life. I took a year off and am now 19 and starting university in March at La Trobe to study nursing.

I had a great pregnancy apart from the huge weight gain, stretch marks and really swolen hands and feet.

The birth was a little more difficult. I had Lachlan 3 days after I went into labour. It was very slow, I guess he was just being a male and taking his time lol

I had a natural birth with drugs which I really didn't want to have and will deffinately not have next time. Lachlan was 8 pound 5 when he was born and I didn't have to have any stitches yay. Lachlan was perfectly healthy when he came out but I suffered from bad haemoraging and lost a lot of blood. It hurt like the hell to help fix it but I'm all good now.

Lachlan is a very cheecky little boy who loves getting into everything. I love him very much.

well for one, congrats lol good job glad she is safe and doing well, i got kinda the same thing going on, i got prego at 15 and had my baby at 16, im now 17 and will be 18 in march same as you, my daughter is a year old now born dec,26/08 ummmm not going to be getting married yet cause i wanna wait it out lol, my baby was due right on time(kinda)(a day or 2 off) but she was 7 pounds six ounces, doing good trying to walk and wat not, add me on fb or reply to my convo
