my son is in 8th grade and has been going to the same school ever since he was first grade. he had a difficult time when he was 3 learning speaking and behavior modification. he is one of the brightest children in his school too. the problem is that he always complains that his friends ignore him or walk away from him when he starts to speak and they cut him out whenever they go out. he is such a sweet and kind person and i ran out of ideas to have him make friends easily.

what kind of strategy would have his friends listen or give him attention.

Thanks

I always told my son to not care what other people are doing or think about him. I just told him to be happy and confident but don't be mean to others either. Kids are interested in other kids who are confident in themselves but not stuck up or braggers. Maybe your son needs some counseling for his self esteem? It's great he can go to you to talk about his problems. Not all parents have that.
