I am 21yrs old (not sure if that matters). I have a 4.5yr old daughter and a 4 month 2week old son. I am breastfeeding my son. I am having unprotected sex w/my fiancee. For the past month or so I have been feeling random twitching or abdominal muscle spasms. I feel them the left side just above my belly button. They feel just like little baby flutters!! I had a blood pregnancy test done the end of August and it was negative. With my son I started feeling his movements around 8weeks gestation. Tonight, the fluttering or whatever you want to call it was visible to me from just looking at my tummy. The fluttering stayed in an area about the size of a half dollar and lasted maybe a couple minutes. I told my fiancee I was feeling it again and asked him if he could see my tummy (sorry w/2 children I refer to my abdomen as tummy) moving and he glanced over and said it looks normal and quickly looked away. lol. I'm more then positive it was not just gas!! Am I going crazy? Could I be pregnant? Do I go back to my OB/GYN and have another pregnancy test done? I don't want to randomly go into labor one day. lol. Am I worrying about something silly? I honestly never thought I would be asking what I believe to be such a silly question.

You know for months after I had my daughter I was getting the same thing. My doctor told me that it is common for women to get 'ghost flutters and kicks' after birth. I think i felt them right up until my daughter was 6 months old. He said it can be a combination of the internals contracting again and phycological (as in I felt her kick for so long I sort of expect it to happen still in my subconscious) Sounds a bit crazy, but apparently very normal and most importantly nothing to worry about. If you have the all clear from your doctor it could just be the same thing I experienced

Amber, that is what I have been thinking, I had the same feeling after having my daughter who will be 5 in Jan, but it was not as often as it is now. And why would I feel myself ovulate above my belly button? lol.

phantom kicks !!! [woooooo spooky] i had those for about 6 months after my kiddo came out. sometimes my tummy still ticks, and mine is four! i also heard it can mean you are ovulating, because after you are pregnant you are much more aware of your body and you can sometimes "feel" youself ovulate. freaky but true. i have thought i was preg. many times because of this, and let myself get carried away with hope LOL

I had that with my first son. I thought it was a baby. but it was just my body playing tricks on me lol

I would get another test done just to make sure. I had these flutters for two months after I miscarried in May (so until July of this year) as while I was still having a regular cycle, my body thought I was still pregnant.

Stephanie, my OB/GYN put me on the "mini pill", but I had continued to forget to take, stopped taking it after reading about it and finding out that it does not terminate any start of a pregnancy, but could cause birth defects if I were to continue to take it thats the main reason for the test in August, because I was going to start taking it on time. Well, obviously I haven't been doing that either. I know breast feeding will not "protect" me.
Kc, my daughter told me about 2 months before I became pregnant w/my son that "Mommy has a baby in her tummy"... sure enough about 2 months later I was pregnant. When my son was about a month old she told me that I had a baby in my tummy and she also said she could feel the baby. My fiance and I just assumed she was saying this because I hadn't lost all the weight... or at least that is kind of what we wanted to believe. I also had a very strong feeling of wanting twins when my son was about 1.5-2 months old.
Stacia, I was thinking maybe it was my hormones to. I don't want my doctor to look at me like I'm crazy for getting pregnant soo soon. It would be cool to have Irish twins though! haha.

I always said I'd never be one of those crazy people who resume sex w/in the first 6 months postpartum let alone w/in the first month. haha.
Thanks ladies! :)

Id get another one it may have been to early to detect on the last test? Your hosp should of told you that breastfeeding isnt a contraception as you can still ovulate and therefor fall pregnant

Hi
My name is Stacia McLachlan and i am 19 and i have a 3 and a half month old son.
If i was u i would go get checked out it could be nothing or it could be that you might be pregnant again. your not going crazy. just try and do another preg test by your self and then go back to the doctor. it may also just be your hormons playing games with you they do that.

maybe go back and have a blood test done again, one of my friends had one and felt things similar to this and had a blood test done that came back neg and she still was worried about it about 4 weeks later and had another test done and it came back positive so maybe to ease your mind talk to your ob again :)
its not a silly question only silly questions are the ones you dont ask :)
