Pregnancy test question...

2 years ago I got pregnant with my first baby, and both at-home pregnancy tests i took were VERY faint. blood tests confirmed that i was in fact pregnant. now i'm pregnant with my second (5 weeks yesterday WOOHOO!) and the two home tests i took this time were also very faint. again, blood tests confirmed a possitive lol. the at home tests only test for one hormone, and that hormone is ONLY present while pregnant, so if the line shows up, regardless of how light or dark, it's a possitive. there is a possibility of a false possitive, but to have 2 in a row is fairly rare. but if you're in question, i'd say a blood test is the way to go because that's literally the only 100% answer you can get (until you pop the baby out, that is lol)

I did 2 tests with my currently unborn baby and on both there was a strong line anda very faint line. I googled this and found out that no matter how faint 1 or both lines are, you are pregnant! I was only 4 weeks when I took the tests so I think tht is why the line was faint, as the level of pregnancy hormone wasn't very strong.

yeah when i tested the first time i had a very faint line so i waited a few days and took another one first thing in the morning. the dr told me the best time to take a pregnancy test is first thing in the morning. it came back a positive for me. good luck! :)

I haven't had that problem, but I know when I read the instructions on the last one I did it said even the faintest of a line is "accurate". Go to your doctor (primary or OB/GYN if you have one) and have a blood pregnancy test done just to make sure. :)

Yes. With my daughter I took a test late at night. No lines came up at all so I threw it out. About 5 hrs later when I got up to go to the bathroom I glanced at the test and saw a line so I picked it up and beside it was a very faint line. I started some what freaking out inside and made my bf go get me another one. I was pregnant. With my son the lines came up completly pink! I was pregnant for a 3rd time last yr ( which I lost), and with that pregnancy test both lines came up really faint. I think the best way to go about this is to see a doctor lol.

some women bleed in first trimester go to your dr right away!! have them do a blood test. i have seen so many women on tlc that think they r not prego and they are 9 months later having baby in the toilet. it is very scary!!

yeh i went to the docs when i didnt know she did the test there and then and one line was darker and the other faint and then it just started getting darker and darker, and then i did tests at home to be sure lol and they were positive, so its most likely you are, get a home pregnancy kit or go ur docs to check.

your pregnant. you may want to wait another week to do another one. or go to dr have them do a blood test. with my 3rd that happen to me a 2 lines and one was faint but when i went to drs it didnt show up on a urine test right away so i had to go back in a week and it said i was pregnant

I had that problem. When did you take it? Am, Noon, Pm? How far would you be along? I would wait til the end of the week to take it due to if you are the hormones in your body are not high enough! The best is to take it first thing when you awake. If you really want to know then call your doctor and have them do a blood test. They are more accurate. Good Luck to you!

I had the exact same issue! I had a faint positive and waited a few days till I missed my period and it was a definite positive! You should know that ANY faint or bold line means pregnant! The test looks for HCG hormone you only produce if a baby is there! CONGRATS!

ive never heard of a false positive, a light positive isstill apositive it probably just mean you are very early pregnant thats all, also test first thing in the morning thats when urine has the most hormone hcg in it so you may get a stronger positive.
