just curious to know what names everyone had picked out for if they had a son or daughter before they found out they were pregnant and if you changed your mind and the reasons?

Well with my oldest I had picked out Lilly Viktoria (for my mother who passed away in 2000). Since she passed I had plans on naming my daughter lilly (my mother's maiden name). We were told the whole time I was preg. I was having a girl but picked a boys name out just in case. If it was a boy I wanted Dakotah Jeffrey. Jeffrey after my dad. My hubby nixed that. lol. The only name we could agree on was kyler, so we decided to change the spelling to Kylar Jeffrey. Good thing we had a boy's name picked out cuz I ended up having a boy!
With my middle son, my hubby wanted another name that started with K, we were looking through baby name books in the book store and we both came across the name Kaden at exactly the same time! That was it from there. We loved it cuz it wasn't too popular then, but it sure is now! and Kylar and Kaden went well together. His middle name is Anthony cuz that's my hubby's middle name.
For our daughter, I knew I was having a girl from the moment I found out I was expecting. But just in case we picked Kooper for a boy cuz my ongyn's name is dr. cooper. She delivered all 3 of my kids and is great! For girls names Lilly is now such a popular name, we nixed that. We liked Kaia, but that sounded to close to Ky our oldest son's nickname. I loved Gracelyn but I have a niece name Gracie. Eventually towards the end of my pregnancy we ran across Kenna in a baby name book and we both just loved it, and it started with a K.! I was stuck on a middle name. I waffled back and forth between Lee (my mother's middle name), Viktoria, and Lilly. Actually thought about doing 2 middle names but decided against it. My oldest son ended up being the tie breaker. The first time he saw her I asked him what he thought her middle name should be and he said Lee, so I asked why and he said it was easier to spell than the other 2 names. lol. So she ended up being Kenna Lee.

I've always had a list of names I love. Before I got pregnant, I really liked the names Emmeline and Adelaide and Vincent and Dominic. It's a good thing we had a girl because we never did come up with a boy's name we could agree on. My daughter's name is Lilliom Asenath.
Lilliom (LIL-lee-um) actually came up randomly one day when we were just tossing names around. Kind of a "I'm not a fan of Lillian, but what about...?" We later found out that "Liliom" is the title of the play that the Rodger's and Hammerstein musical "Carousel" was based upon. Why is that special? My husband and I fell in love while in the production in high school. We played with the spelling - originally, we planned on spelling it as Lillium or Lilium - before settling with Lilliom.
Asenath (uh-SEEN-eth) was the name of my maternal grandmother and I have always loved the name. It means "she belongs to her father." Quite fitting, as my daughter is very much a daddy's girl.

Well i had orginally picked the name Savannah Mae for my daughter before i even knew she was a girl and i told everyone when i found out she was a girl what i was going to name her. Then one of my close friends got pregnant not to long after that and we talked about what i was going to name my little girl and a couple days later i looked at her myspace and it turns out she put Savnnah down as her girls name if it tuns out to bed a girl. She ended up having a misscarriage but i just couldnt use that name after that. So my second choice was either Kaylee or kailyn. I ended up deciding Kaylee Mae. And a month before Kaylee was born i found out my childhood best friend had passed away. We were bestfriend from the time we were 2 years old til grade 5 when i moved away. Her name was Kayla Marie. So Kaylee Mae was very close to kayla Marie and we used to always say we would name our kids after each other and when i realized it was similar to Kayla Marie i knew it was the perfect name for my babygirl.

I had a list a mile long before we found out I was pregnant but surprisingly (not) My boyfriend didn't like most of them! I wanted Evelyn Paige for a girl but he said he HATED the name Evelyn but we're having a boy so I have some more time to work on getting him to accept that name before we ahve a girl ;) When we found out we were having a boy I wanted to name him after his father because I had looked up the meaning of his name (David) and it means "beloved" which I thought was really sweet but since HIS fathers name is also David he didn't want to and I agreed it was kind of silly especially since him and his father aren't that close sooo I decided I wanted a Hebrew name because David is hebrew. We aren't Jewish I just wanted our son's name to have a sort of link to his fathers name:) Anyway I looked on a lot of websites that had Hebrew names and after sifting through A LOT of very old fashioned names we found two that we liked very much Ethan Asher. Ethan means "strong" which is fitting because even as a baby David looked like a little bodybuilder and you can see the biceps on our baby already at his last ultrasound and Asher means "full of joy" which is too cute if you ask me so his full name will be Ethan Asher Busk, I don't think we will change our minds and I'm almost 36 weeks so he will be here very soon, I can't wait ♥

I chose Freyja because I'm an Norse grant it I'm also Irish but I'm very proud of my heritage. Nicole I named her cause I wanted to name her after her Uncle my mom always named us after someone in the family. My new one I have the names for but it's a secrete till the birth

I has always said I was going to name my daughter Alexia Marie. Alexia because I thought it was beautiful, and Marie because that is also my middle name. When I started discussing "future baby" names with my now fiance, he hated it! I never really thought about the guy's opnion. LOL : ) When I found out I was pregnant I searched online for baby names for something that sounded kind of hispanic (because her daddy is mexican), but wasn't too hard to pronounce. I stumbled across Lilliana and fell in love with it immediately. Now I have my little Lilliana Marie, Lilli for short.

When I was pregnant with Konner, his name was decided right after I found out I was having a boy. His middle name Kai came from a friend who'd suggested it.
Olivia didn't have a name until after she was born. She was going to be named Alaska, but we thought that was too out there. Olivia came from SVU and Audrey was just a name we though of.
If we have anymore we like Rheece for a boy, and Addy for a girl.

When we where picking boys names we couldnt think of any names we liked that weren't already in either of the families... So i came up with the idea of Jayjay becasue his dads name is John so it kinda sounded like JJ for John Junior but we didnt like Jayjay but we both said we liked Jay and that doesn't stand for anythin its just Jay :)
Hugo we got from the fathers uncle who died a few years ago
and the first part of the surname is my surname in the male irish version instead of the female..... and the second part is just his fathers surname :) xx

Varis- after his father because it's his first boy and his name is Javaris however I HATE names that start with a J so we settled on Varis.-African American
Li- both Myself and Javaris have a middle name that startes with L his is Latodd my is Louise-Japanese

well i had a vision when i was 13 and i called my son Mi'Chael-Lisan (My*kell-Lee*sawn). I was young and could have easily forgoten but God gave me conformation of my son to be's name. My favorite artist was Michael Jackson and my cousin whom I rarely saw was named Lisa- so those two names kept me up on that dream. I had finally written it out on paper when I was 18. I didnt know I would not have him until I was 21 and in my second marriage. So that's my story. I know its quite rare so I really wanted to take the opportunity and share it with you! So a quick reminder for all women!!!! Love urself enough to be true to the names you chose for your children. They may be the names God has given you for them and you didn't recognize it for the hope of pleasing someone else. Look for conformations as well. They always help. God Bless u all and ur children!

I have two.Girl and boy. Sophia Pearl. Sophia's name is a complicated story. I've always loved the name Sophia, it means "Wisdom," it is the name of the county in WV where my great-grandmother lives (heaven on earth!) It also kind of stands for my favorite mythological figure, Athena, who among other things, represents wisdom. I originally wanted her middle name to be Avery, which means "Queen of the elves." Her father didn't like that though, so we finally settled on Pearl, the name of her paternal great-great-grandmother.
My boy is Kenneth Alexander Drake. His father wanted Alexander ("Great, Conqueror") Drake ("Fire, Of fire"), and I wanted to give him Kenneth ("Handsome") as a middle name because my dad's name is Kenneth, and his middle name is my grandfather's name, and the same with his middle and my great-grandfather's first, and so on. Family tradition. He didn't want to do that though, because he and my dad don't get along, but he relented and gave in in the delivery room. But I liked Kenneth Alexander Drake better than Alexander Kenneth Drake, or Alexander Drake Kenneth, so that's what we did.

My sons name is Drew John. Truthfully I'm not a huge fan of how it sounds but its all about the meaning behind it. Drew is my partners friend who passed away on his 17th birthday along with four other friends in a car accident. John is after my father who passed away when I was three due to drinking and driving. If we were going to have a girl her name was going to be Isabella Alison. Isabella is a name I picked out since grade six. Alison is my partners moms name. We agreed from the start i got the girls first name and he got the middle and vise versa for the boy.

If we were going to have a girl we were going to name her Kira Shea but now if we have a girl it will be Kira Elizabeth; Elizabeth after my best friend who was murdered.

It was neat because when our nurse asked us (while i was in labor ) what his name was and we said daniel she started telling us the story of daniel in the bible amd she started sobbing. it was so touching! onsomu we got from my hubbys side of the fam it was his middle name passed on from an uncle that was very looked upon in his fam. so Daniel Onsomu is what we came up with and very pleased!

when i found out i was pregnant i started thinking off names strait away.all the way through my pregnancy i would keep changing my mind i always said if i had a boy i would name him Ethan Paull or declan Paull (Paull is my parners middle name) . i had so many girls names but just could not pick one. 2 weeks befor i had my baby my mum said how about Emily for a girl and i loved the name but could not see myself calling my child Emily . i ended up giving birth to a amazing baby girl after i had her i hemeraged and lost a lot off blood and cant even remember picking her name but some how my partener said i call her Emily when the midwife handed her to me. so she ended up with Emily Ann ( Ann is mine and my mothers middle name so thought i would carry it on) .Then once we named her Emily Ann we also then found out that my parteners great Aunty's name was Emily Ann so it worked out realy good!!!! now i could not see myself calling her anyother name Emily fits her perfectly!

Eric Ryan because it means ruler of all and little king. Perfect for the oldest boy:)
Brendan Paul because Brendan just sounded nice and it's Irish like us! And Paul because in my husbands family the first grandson gets the middle name of his paternal grandfather and since my husband is the second son in his family we will give our second son his grandpas name. Second sons' second son
Molly Beth just loved Molly and Beth sounded nice and my sisters name is Bethany
Lucy Ella fell in love with Lucy from 7th heaven and lucy from narnia sealed the deal cuz I looked just like her when I was little. Ella from my middle name Elizabeth and we used to like the first name Elle but decided on Ella for a middle name. I also thought about Luciella as a first name but my husband didn't like that
Mikayla Madalyn I always loved Mikayla from dr Quinn and when my husband watched it with me he agreed it was a good name. I asked him if he liked Mikayla Kathryn or Mikayla Madalyn and he picked Madalyn so that's that!
