thanks everyone for all the advice, i did go to the doctors last week with my son and he said to give him rice cereal. He also said never to put it in the bottle just like Lauren had said. So i spoon feed him, which he didnt take it well the first 2 times, but now he tries to grab the spoon and opens his mouth wide. So i would try maybe switching to spoon feeding for those of you who arent since its not the best to put it in their bottle.
Thanks everyone so much!

To the lady who said it would make them addicted to bottles or fat ....my son didnt know how to eat off of a spoon and after weeks of trying it was my only option , Maybe I should spoon feed his formula too since he drinks that outta a bottle .....DIFFERENT CASES DIFFERENT PEOPLE !!

My doc told me not to put cereal in my son's formula but i did anyway. I started doing it around 3 or 4 months. Not a lot of cereal though! Make sure if you do put cereal in the bottle that you use rice cereal (easiest on the tummy) and don't mix it in the bottle with the intructions on the cereal box. It'll be waayy too thick. It's actually common sense but my cousin mixed cereal in a bottle for her baby and it was so thick it was like mud in the bottle. Also, if you are having trouble with the nipple getting clogged from the cereal try buying Beech Nut cereal rather than Gerber. The beech nut cereal is cut a lot finer than the Gerber and comes out the nipple easier. They do make nipples that are tri cut and cereal cut too. Hope this helps.

My daughter's ped put her on cereal at 2 weeks. She started regular baby food about 3 weeks ago and she's 3 1/2 months almost. Every baby is different. Some say spoon feed others say bottle. I do cereal in the bottle. Makes it much easier and less messy. Putting it in the bottle does NOT make your baby fat thank you. And they don't get addicted to the bottle either. My suggestion is though if you do the bottle get adjustable flow nipples. I know Avent has the adjustable flow nipples however. If you spoon feed just watch how much you put on the spoon. My suggestion is start with the bottle so they get used to how thick it is then switch to the spoon. Introduce solids one at a time for about a week in between to watch for allergic reactions though. Don't mix and them have a reaction and not know what its from. Also with the cereal it can make them constipated so just be sure that when on solids they go at least once a day. If they don't go wait till late evening before bath time and give them half a children's suppository. It will help them go so they won't get to plugged up and cry because it hurts so bad they can't go. Do what you think is best for your child and don't let anyone talk you out of or make you feel bad for what you decide is best for them. Good luck! If you need help just send me a message. We're in the pediatricians office everyday so I pretty much know everything and what is "normal" for up until their one. My daughter is only 3 months but they have her at the development of a one year old! Hope this helps!

I know everyone says to wait till there 4months-6months but i started my daughter on cereal bottles at 1 month. The doctors kept telling me she was too small and still at 3months she only weighs 10lbs. but it seems to help her sleep and ive had her sleeping through the night since we started her on cereal bottles. (also saves on formula shes 3 months and still only at 6oz bottles every 4-5 hours.)

I started putting a tiny bit of cereal in my daughter's bottles at 4 months, because she acted like she was having trouble pooping. Also, she grows so fast that she was wanting a bottle every 2 hours! It worked for me, and then at 5 months, she started eating cereal from a spoon, and we stopping putting cereal in the bottles.

We started my son on cereal in his bottle around six months. We only did it at his last bottle before bed to help him sleep longer. I wouldnt put it in all the bottles. But I would talk to your dr. about it first before you start anything new.

Never put it in a bottle. If you want to give your baby cereal spoon feed it. You should never put anything but formula and water in a bottle. It will make your baby fat and addicted to the bottle. My dr said to start spoon feeding cereal at 4 months.
