how do you feel about shows like the secret life and 16 and pregnant?
how do you feel about magizines bashing teen pregnancy?

yeah, in some places it may be a trend. in my school there is always 4 ppl pregnant, and there is approx. 2000 in the hight school.
things happen, and i hate the media bashing it.
this site is awesome, seriously if you put your mind to it you can succeed being a teenage mom.

the secrect life and 16 and pregnant- i hate them.
it makes me upset, glorifying everything.
making it seem glamourous.
there are many teen moms who work hard, but get no credit.
and the girl on the secrect life is so whiny.
makes me annoyed, grow up and take responsibility.

See my point is there movies TV shows, there never gonna show the reality to it.if they could it would be great but think about it who is making the movie? do u think they would have been in our situation I'm a young mum and it's been real hard but u get though it being a teenage mum is one of the hardest things anyone could do!!!

lol well i must say i pretty much agree like the 18 and pregnant i sorta liked... the cheerleader was most defintaly a a spoiled brat.. but hey there out there... the reason i liked 16 and pregnant is because it gave a little taste of what it's like... but at the same time it made me sad. It doesn't tell the whole truth. they forgot to mention the part about how you can't qualify for welfare or cash assitance if you live with your parents, or how the waiting list for hud is like 3 years. Now I am going to school, but I have my own family and would like my independce while attending school but can't attain it because the goverment hasn't worked out all there kinks.... But the show was still hit a spot in my heart lol..... for some of the girls atleast. And the 16 and pregnant show... well that show is just ridicuolus. If our nation was serious about preventing teen pregnancy it should be better taught in school. Maybe like a speaker whos been through it.... but hey i dont make the rules i jsut flow them

i understand what your saying but i really liked 16 and pregnant yeah some of them were a little cheesy but the one with the red head touched me because guys are very much like that and for him to treat her like that i felt for her as for the adoption one it really touched me. because i know what its like to give ur baby up for adoption. so u cant judge all shows.

i so agree !!! fianlly, someone understands. she just expected her mom to take care of it, even though she wouldnt do adoption. it just frustrates me alot.

the secret life needs to be taken off air...its glorifies that bitch to be a selfish self absorbed person who cares only for herself! i would never let my kids watch it. yes im a young mom but its not glorified and ill tell my children to wait as long as possible because its hard....i cant believe that show is considered a family show!!! plenty of young moms are responsible and no what needs to be done they make her seem like she is too stupid to even function and whines all the time

I don't watch either of those shows but I have heard of them.

Wish I could elaborate more but I never have time to sit down and watch TV :-(

I work too much and Leona keeps me busy non-stop until bed time!!!

I haven't watched either of those shows. However.. a woman's body is most fertile between the ages of 16-21, these are the years in which we are biologically intended to give birth. In the olden days people had their kids way before this, it's only with society's demands for education and a stronger work force in the past century or so that people have began holding off until older ages. I think the focus should be more on awareness of ALL the aspects of motherhood (feeling like the only person in the world awake at 3am, being spit up on/pooped on, kidless friends abandoning you, etc) so that teenagers get a real idea of what its like, rather than try to banish the situation from existance.

I get what your saying... there are so many great teen mums out there..

my partner and I have worked so hard, he works full time with a salary of 35000 a year(not much) but we have just moved into our own home :-)

Our daughter was planned and still we have no regrets. Everything seems perfect!

I have seen worse 30+ year olds be worse mothers then us teen mums..
