my 3 month old daughter just starting teething and she is so miserable at times i feel so bad, she gets low fevers and sometimes she will just sit there and just chew on her hand or blanket and just moan. i feel so bad but the only thing i can do is try to make her as comfortable as i can.

OHHHH those top teeth are KILLER aren't they!!!???? My son got his two bottom ones first 1 1/2 weeks apart he had a really hard time with the first one and then the second one wasn't so bad coz I didn't know it was coming through until I saw that bright white beneath his gums and then the bloody red split later that day. He started this whole damned teething debacle at 3 months also.

These top ones have been AWFUL he's in pain 24hours of the day, poor thing wakes up all night long ripping at his ears and screams and screams and screams until you distract him by making him laugh, unfortunately for him, I believe I have passed on my immunity to most medications so not much works and if it does work it's not for long. Months of seeing the top gums getting more and more swollen and flattening out (which is a term i did not understand until i observed the long drawn out process myself) and then I was soooo happy coz they were finally bleeding underneath the skin and i thought "YES, this is it, oh good only another day or two!!" but nooooo, i was wrong, it was another 2 damned weeks of absolutely no sleep day or night until it finally broke through the surface about 4 days ago. Yayyy!! That tooth finally stopped giving him hell...but it doesn't end there...2 days before it broke the surface the second top tooth decided to show it's white glory beneath the skin and then start bleeding underneath...so me and my son Toby have approximately 2 weeks more of of this hell for this tooth. And I really hope that the teething gives us at least a fortnight or so of sleep, we both really need it.

The cutest thing I've seen in a while was the day the surface broke. The actual eruption happened in the early hours of the morning and through that day my son just crashed, he fell asleep sooo easily all day long, kept falling asleep in the car and just generally would not wake up...ahhh, I was so happy for him, he was finally getting a little bit of piece.

Is your daughters gums still straight or have they started to become uneven along the base where the teeth come through?

I really hope they don't take to much longer for you and your little beauty, they don't deserve to go through so much pain, they're so little and fairly helpless and they don't know what is going on...it's just not fair!!!

Thanks! its her daddys totth brush but her carer gave it to her for some reason and she liked it lol. hope she is feeling better now xo

i had my little boy april 2 2009. he is 11 weeks old and starting to teeth its his bottom 2 teeth its horrible and i just hate seeing him in pain like this..he's much too young.

the brand is orajel, krogers and walmart have it right beside the teething gel, they also have tooth and gum cleanser to which is like a rubber finger toothbrush that helps clean their gums and riley loves the taste of the cleanser.

really? i never heared that about the gel... i might stop giving it and see what happens.. anyone have any ideas of if brushing their gums with a toothbrush helps their teeth come thru? someone told me the other day and i wasn't sure.. my older son had no trouble at all teething so really i have never been through this before. lol. what teething tablets do you use amber? xx

My daughter started teething at 3 months and shes going on 4 months. I feel so bad when shes in pain :( the doctor told me to give her a very low dose of tylenol and it seems to help at night but teething gel is suppose to harden their gums so i would recommend teething tablets. its like instant relief (:

wow i feel for you and her. mine fussed a tiny bit while teething for 2 days at separate times but it never affected her sleeping thru the night or anything. she has a mouth full of teeth and has for ages even though shes only 14 months, i guess all i can say is keep her dosed up on medicine to take the pain away and bonjella. over in australia i find the nurofen works better then panadol

my son is now almost 7 months and has been teething since 2 months. it gets unbearable for him sometimes and all he does is scream. its hard for me to know he's in that much pain and can't really do anything about it.

My daughter is 17 months old and her first four all came in at the same time. They came in so slow I thought they would never come in. She cried a lot because it hurt her so bad. She finally got them when she was 6 months old, and she stated teething at 2 months. After the first couple months I started giving her a bath every night because that was the only way she could fall asleep and be comfortable at the same time.
