no my lil girl is three months and i give her a lil bit of baby rice in her bottel. about a teaspoon every two onuces

Yeah I would hold off on the juice for a while. No need to give them sugars until you can't avoid it. When mine was 3 months I gave her just 2 or 3 ounces of water because she would get constipated all the time. Each baby is different. It's definetly not too soon to try infant cereal, but like I said "try." If she likes it and it isn't too heavy for her, then go for it. It's all about trial and error.

my doc told me that at 2 months i could start him drinking apple juice and water 1/2 and 1/2 he does just fine wit. exspeacailly now that its hot!!!! dont want them to over heat!!

i started my baby on apple juice and water when he was 2 1/2 months and soon after i started to put one scoop of cearel in his bottle at nights now he is 4 months and i put 2 scoops at night and 1 during the day plus at least one apple juice it helps him poop, becareful and sit them up otherwise u will scare yourself when he chokes. i think you can try cereal now, they say it doesnt help them sleep but at 2 months by son sleeps all night every night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We tried giving our daughter cereal at 3-4 mths and she didn't care for it. So we waited till about 6 mths and she liked it along with other baby foods. We waited though to give her juice when she was able to sit on her own w/o support. Water we started her on when she was about 4-5 mths.

Most people wait until 4months that's what doctors suggest but my son was on a soy based milk at 3months so the doctor told me to add cereal due to the fact it would keep him from getting hungry to fast

i think its wayy too soon for apple juice. water is okay. but doctors told me its still bad for a 8 month old to have apple juice. so i wouldnt give him apple juice or infant cereal.

Go to the grocery store and look up all the ages for cereal i think there is a 3 moth one... we had to give my son some in his formula because it wasnt enough for him :D

u supposted to wait 6months for juice but the docter told me to give my daughter prune juice.but the cereal i think is six months too.look at the box usally it says when they can have it

Well my son started eating cereal at 4 months and he drank juice at 6 so i think its up to the parent and how big ur baby is ... the big thing is dont feed them baby food or cereal in a bottle thats a no no lol but try an ounce of cereal and see how she does i hope this helps

i would wait till she is 5 months old because their digestive system is immature, it might make her sick if you give her food too soon.

Yes! The aap says to not give babies cereal until after 4months and water and juice until after 6months. I know how exciting it is to see your baby do new things, but keep in mind that their little digestive systems still need to grow and mature and you don't want to hurt her. :)

My daughter was taking infant cereal (rice kind) at 1 month old. Its whenever you feel they can handle it.

By professional advice, it should be 4-6 months. As a mother, you should know when your baby needs it. However, it can make them constipated so you should try and perservere with upping the formula/breast feeds, she may just need that little bit more. My second had infant cereal a little earlier (at 4 months) as she had reflux and the medication wasnt working, it was only a tablespoon at a time though and that is all their little tummies can take, so try avoid giving them more and more, it will only stretch their tummies and make them need more. Juice, in my personal opinion should not be given to a baby. Even the baby juice is crammed full of sugars and if you just give your baby water if they need extra fluids then that is all they'll know so wont want for anything else. The second you give them juice or sugary stuff is the second they will realise that is muchhh better than what theyve been getting and then comes the issues.

Oh and remember babies have a big growth spurt at 3 months old so its normal for them to want more milk at this age.

Just give more milk, not food, don't confuse the growth spurt with your baby needing more food.

I would never give my 3 month old any food other than milk. Milk is a babies main source of nutrients for the first year, so don't replace it with baby cereal!



Start food at 6 months or older.

Water can be given from birth.

Juice can be given from 4 months.

All i can say is only u know whats right 4 ur bubba... But its a good idea 2 get her 2 drink a lil bit of water as its a good drinkin habit, Our daughter had breast milk & also water till she was old enough 2 drink. And shes now 18months old & loves her water =) Just follow ur instinct... Good luck

i would say your probably backwards and should start cereal around 4 months and not juice SOMETIMES until 6 months, its not good for their teeth! she doesn't neeed water at all at her age.

Our pediatrican said to not give juice until 6 months, but only 2 oz per day 1/2 water 1/2 juice. We based giving our babies food by their milestones, Cereal if they are a supported sitter, which was 3 1/2 months with my first 4 1/2 months with my second. Then veggies and fruit at 5 months with both. If you decide to give her cereal start with just 1 to 2 tbs a day to get her used to it. Make sure it isnt thick as she could choke on it and if she keeps doing what they call tounge thrust where she pushes it out of her mouth she isnt ready yet.

my mom put my son on cereal and juice at 2 weeks and it helped him sleep and i trust my mom due to the fat she has had 10 kids and all doing ok

try to wait until atleast 4-5 months to try to start cereal and other foods..introducing foods to early could cause allergies in the long run so just be really careful and hold off for a few more weeks i know its hard to do but its in yours and the baby's best interest.

OH and also... he LOVES the "fruit smoothies" i make him :)

i take 5 ounces of either fruit punch flavored pedialyte, or some kind of gerber fruit juice (w/ out water) warm it up.... then add 5 scoops of formula, 4 tablespoons of gerber apple rice cereal, then shake it up really good. he usually gets one a day around lunch time

my son has been taking cereal since he was 2 WEEKS old. he has reflux so he was spitting up alot. and he is allergic to milk so he is now on a special formula. he was in the hospital at one point and the doctor told us to start putting 1 tablespoon of formula for every ounce of formula. when we askeed about it being too soon. he said there is no real reason why babies should not have it early. my son is now 5 & a 1/2 months old, normal weight and has NEVER had ANY problems with the thickened formula. he is actually more satisfied after each feeding and does not take as many bottles everyday. we were able to start him on juice diluted w/ water @ 2 months, and he started eating baby food a week before he turned 3 months old. HOPE THIS HELPS! :)

I put a bit of juice in with the formula. It helps with constipation. that's the only reason for juice so early. Try cereal if you think the baby is ready. If the child seems interested in your food while you're eating, seems to want to try what you're doing sorta thing then maybe try a bit. My daughter was like that. I gave her cereal a few times a week until she was 6months then started a daily routine. She seems to like it. I'd say she was around 3.5- 4 months when she first had it. Talk to your Dr though. :)

my son is four and a half months and we put him on cereal bottles at about 2 and half. he loves it. just give it a little bit at a time. water, i gave him when he was younger occasionally if he was spitting up alot. but juice, i havent done.

Usually when a baby is still hungey after eating 8oz or formula it's time for rice cereal, but I'd ask a pharmacist or Dr just to be sure.

water is OK, Juice no. Cereal no. Juice is from 6 months but it has to be baby juice or 1 part juice 4 parts water?? I think but I always bought my daughter the baby juice. Babies are supposed to be 6 months before any form of solid food. Unless your Dr tells you to then DON'T I have seen children have horrible consequences with feeding to early. It doesn't matter if you think your baby is still hungry, give them more milk! You may think you have a big baby so they need solid food to keep them full, UNTRUE! There internal organs are all at a similar maturity and that maturity can NOT handle food. Some babies go fine with it and have no problems, but do you want to be the unlucky one who finds out you tore the stomach lining of your baby cause you thought they needed food...

Before changing your babies diet ALWAYS see your Dr first.

they used to say start trying cereal at 3 months, then it changed to six months, I have four kids and they have all been different. One ate almost no solid food until he was one! My last seemed to need cereal at about three months and did fine. Watch their reaction, and pay attention to changes in diapers. I think their just supposed to be on milk though as far as liquids, because water intoxication and nutritional values.but applesauce is a good first food, or thin baby cereal with breast milk or formula.

between 4-6 months you can introduce baby food and infant cereal. My doctor said at the same time as food to start introducing juice. My daughter's 9 months old and hates apple juice! She only likes to drink water :)



And NEVER EVER give your baby cereal in a bottle! It is a huge chocking hazard!

I would definfitely wait a little on the juice or water because its just takes up space without nutritional value for their little bodies. The rice cerial should be fine around then but probably wait another month or more to add vegetables or fruit. Some babies can handle the cerial at this time some cant so just try and if she doesnt go for it then wait and try later. :)

I know that you are suppost to wait until a year i think to give juice...we had to give it to my son a few times because he got all stopped up. but we started giving my son one cereal bottle a day around 3 and half mths and he was even a mth early...he did fine with it...al though other people will say to wait untill 6 mths and/or not give cereal in a bottle..but it worked for my son and all bebies are differnt...its all up to ur baby and what she is ready for..she will let you know if she isnt ready!
