I feel like most young moms care a lot about finding the perfect name for our babies!

So what did you choose?

First and middle!

Did you let dad help pick? Or was it all up to you?

Have you ever wished you had chosen a different name for them?

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

Beatrice Noelle and Eleanor Brianna
My husband wanted something old fashioned, but I didn't want anything already used in my very large Catholic family so we went to Shakespeare instead of the Bible for first names. The Noelle is because if our first child hadn't miscarried, it would have been due at Christmas and that would have been it's name if female. Brianna is because by then we didn't think we'd get a boy to name after daddy. :) Both names were negotiated (Bea was almost Eleanor and Ellie was almost Margaret Helen). I thought Brianna was going to be Brianne, but when my husband called around to tell family she was born, it came out the other way.
If we ever get lucky enough to have more, our first son will be Jeffrey Brian (step grandpa who is more of a real grandparent than either biological one and dad), second son Edward Albin (what Bea thinks we should name a brother instead of Jeffrey and my maiden name), and third daughter Margaret Francis (another name we considered for Ellie and my grandma--I think it sounds better the other way, but that's too much of a "nun" name for a baby.).

Tristan Marc
Juliette "Juls" Laura
Evelyne "Evie" Tibita
Leo Charles
Sophie "Soph" Claire
Each of our names our bilingual, since we speak both French and English at home. My husband was very much involved in the name picking. We wanted classic, older names. We looked in our family trees and found the names Evelyne and Leo. The names Tristan, Juliette and Sophie were simply names we both adored and found in books! We never regretted any names we chose, probably because we put so much thought into them. They sound great with the last name and we made sure they were not likely to be teased! Middle names were also a big decision! Marc was after my father, Laura after a mix of my sister (Laurianne) and my husband's (Rachel), Tibita was my daughter Evelyne's birthname in Uganda (she was adopted at 6 months old), Charles was after my father-in-law and Claire after a good friend of mine who passed away just a few weeks before I gave birth. I also valued the meanings of the names. For example, Sophie means wisdom, and Evelyne means life.

My little boy is Nickolai Alexander. I picked the first name out from watching Law and Order: SVU, a mobster guy's name was Nikolai. I decided to Americanize it a little though in case he wants to be called Nick one day. And Alexander just fits perfectly.

Clarity Nova.

I knew it would have to be something unique considering my mother gave all her kids unusual names. As soon as I heard the name clarity in a song by my boyfriends favorite artist I completely fell in love with it! (Clarity- Mac miller)

Nova was something my mother loved, it just seemed so perfect!

My daughters name is Neale, I absolutely love the unconventionalness it has. I've always had a fascination with using typically male-only names as female ones. I love it more and more each day!

I just found out my baby is gonna be a boy and this is what me and the daddy have decided on.
We both agree on a first name, and then we each pick a middle name.
It is Zimri Samuel August
(August is up for change, so any suggestions are open. August was his gradads name, and also when we found out he was a boy. We both like it but its still up for change) Let me know what you think guys (:

I also have a daughter named Charidyn(Chair a den) Denise. A step daughter named Saunya Marie. Two sons. Austin Shayne Ray(shayne and Ray are middle) and Christopher Jayden. I had 3 still borns. Jacob Stephen, Taraleigh Kayden Stephanie Michelle(3 middle names, everyone had requests and we wanted her to be remembered very much). And James Edward. Everyone thinks I pick very unusual names but I want my children to be unique. I not one for traditional names.

My daughter's name is Reign(pronounced rain) Lyautey. The Lyautey is her middle name. My mother-in-laws maiden name was Lyautey. Some people find this weird but it was our way of acknnowledging my husbands french hertage. And I think it is a beautiful name.

My daughters name is Destiny Paige Rose. (paige rose is her middle name). I often get 'hummms' from people when i tell them her name is Destiny. My boyfriend and I chose it together being that we are both young parents and the name felt right for our situation. paige is after her godmother who i grew up with more like a sister and rose is from her great grandmother on her daddys side. :)

My sons name is Zayne Richard, I LOVE his name and wouldn't change it, although I have gotten a lot of pre teens asking if I named him after one direction. But he was born before they became so popular and I hadn't even heard of anyone with the name Zayne. I thought of his name the father was in the picture for a very sort time while I was pregnant and he made it clear that he didn't give a care in the world what I named the baby or what I did.

Austin Joseph. I love my son's name. It isn't very common but doesn't sound like an old man name. His dad picked the middle name. Both fist and middle names are after each of our grandfathers. I would not change it for the world.

We named our two sons Paul Lucas and Elliott Thomas. My hubby and I agreed we wanted something classic and I picked both Paul and Elliott and he was fine with them lol. I love their names, they are timeless and will sound good even when they grow up, which I think is something alot of people don't consider when they give their kid a "modern" name that is cute now but I could never picture on an adult. I am pregnant with a daughter and we are considering other classic names for her as well.

It is a rare thing! My husband and I picked my sons name in spring of 2005 and we didn't marry and have him til spring of 2009.
Around the same time we chose Eric's name we also chose our second sons name. Now we have a second child but it was a girl! So we have a name that's ready and waiting that we've had set for 7 years!

I actually picked out my sons name when I was 13. One of those games you play with your girlfriends about what you want your kids names to be. I chose Gabriel Stephen. The father had no say in the matter, my mind was set. It just so happends his brother is named Stephen so it all worked out really. I also have my daughters name picked out for when she comes along.
Not many people can say THAT. That they've have their kids named picked 8 years before.

Talon Patryk, 12yrs (boy)
Tatum Rayne, 11 yrs (girl)
and Kellin Eslie, almost 4 (boy)... I wasn't involved in naming the first two as they are my step-kids, but I love both of their names. With Kellin I had my heart set on Declan or Finn, but hubby wanted to name him Kellindyll after a character in one of his books. We compromised on Kellin. Eslie was hubby's grandfather's name.

My son's name is Matthew Carter. There were sooo many names I liked I just wrote them all down then his dad told me the ones out of those that he liked. Then I looked up meanings of the names left and saw Matthew meant 'Gift from God' and I was sold on the name. I don't ever wish his first name was different, but sometimes I wonder why I didn't give him a family middle name. But yeah of course we want the perfect name! It's always going to be their name

My 3 year old is Katana Elizabeth. I pretty much chose her name but my husband agreed to it. I am currently pregnant with another little girl we're naming Karabella Lee. My husband found the name Karabela and I fell in love with the name. He decided to add the extra "L" to give her name a nicer meaning. What makes both of their names particularly great is that in case they don't like them when they are older, they have plenty of nicknames to take out of them.
