its funny noone around me has ever brest fed. so when me and my doctor decided to do it exculively it meant that i can feed her if i want to or not at 4 months and i chose 6...everyone around me gives me sooooo much crap cause i dont feed her yet...sure i give her tastes so her taste buds develop but i dont see any reason to feed her she gets all her nutrition from me and i dont think anyone else should tell me what to do just becuase that is what they did

I started my b/g twins on rice cereal when they were about four months of age. Their formula didn't satisfy them as much so once we started solids they were much happier for it. We gradually tried the different baby foods with them after they got introduced to the cereal. They're two years old now.

you can start your baby on solids at about 4 months if your baby needs it. i had the same problem as you with my son and had to start him early, try him on a tiny bit of baby rice or even jelly only give your baby maybe a spoonful or 2 thats it to start, then just add more and more as your baby needs it.a mother always knows whats best for there child. good luck =]

I started my daughter on rice cereal (spoon fed) at 4months because the doctor recommended it since she stop sleeping through the night. Then at 6months i started giving her oatmeal, and veggies. Then at 7months I gave her fruit. Remember be patient with them they might gag or make sour faces in the beginning but that's there way of getting use to the new change. Be sure to give your baby the same food for 2days so that way if they are allergic to any food you will know which one.

I started weaning my daughter when she was 4 months old as we were reccommended by our health visitor because her weight wasn't steadily increasing and she was hungry ALL the time, 2 hourly feeds (breastfeeding). She could hold her head up fine and she tucked in to the food with no problems at all.

I started around 4/5 months. She would finish her bottle then want more, so we started putting baby rice in her milk. That didnt really seem to fill her up either so onto the little jars =]
she's now 11 months and will eat absolutly anything!!

4 months. Our pediatrician told us since the baby was taking to his rice cereal very well we were free to give him whatever baby food we would like, and that the whole thing about babies developing food allergies by eating solids before 6 months is a bunch of lies, and also that you dont have to pay attention to if the food is stage 1, 2, 3 etc because all it means is that one is more blended than the other so whatever consistency your baby is fine with is what you should go with. Don't live by what all those baby books say to do, your doctor's approval is all you need.

I started my son with 1 tablespoon of rice cereal in his bottle at 2 months because my pedi told me to because he wasnt getting enough from just his formula he was eating 4ounces every hour so thats whyy he did that. Then at 4 months i started out with veggies then about 3 weeks later i started fruits. It worked great

My baby was breastfed and sometimes got formula too. I started her on the rice cereal at about 3 almost 4 months. She just couldn't get full. She would nurse all day long if I let her. After she was totally comfortable with the rice cereal i started mixing it with the little number 1 jars of food. Then after that I would just give her the jars. She was a little foodaholic. Every baby is different. Just do what works for you and your baby. If you try solids and it doesn't go well then just try again a little later. Good luck!

My baby started taking rice cereal about 2 or 3 weeks after she was born because she was going through more then 7 ounces at a time but I did start her off with baby food at 3 and half months, the only thing was not sure she could digest it well so she got fussy when eating it, and she became constipated at one time so i took a break and started it back at 4 months and she was fine. If you do choose to start with food, the baby food with one ingredient in it, and also start off with veggies first, then slowly introduce fruits, maybe mixing it with the veggies then feeding it separate.

ok this is what my doctor told me to do and it worked great at 3 months start her on cereal (baby cereal) then 4 months fruits with cereal but only one fruit a week so if she has an allergy u will know what it is at 5 months start veggies one per week 6 months meats one per week then as she gets better at mushing and putting it to the back u can give her the gerber 2 meals and 3 meals u can find them in the store plus on the back of the box it tells u about what age that food is good for ur baby

I went onto feeding when my daughter was 4 months, she was breastfed, but i had to do training and would be away from her between 8 in the morning til 3 in the afternoon as much as we tried she would not take expressed milk from a bottle/sippy cup and because she was such a big baby anyway I went onto solids so she could eat when I wasn't there. She loved it!normally they do no eat that much to begin with she took 4 big table spoonfuls of food- and no I don't mean teaspoon size TABLESPOON size lol. She pretty much went onto take a full large pot of baby rice cereal. She is 6 months has 3 meals and 3--4 breastfeeds a day. She has all types of pureed food. Avacado with bannana, sweetpotato, butternut squash, carrots, parsnips she loves it :) She put on so much weight after being born...7lb 8oz when i was 13 days overdue to 8lb 2 in 5 days, 9lb 3 in 10 days she must have been about 16 pounds when i began feeding her.

im doing breast and formula too. If your working your babysitter should be giving your baby food, and formula (thats if you decide to gice her solids) and the time your with your daughter give her breast milk.
I don't work but I give her formula so she can get use to it for when I wanna break and leave her with the grandparents.
from 9pm-11pm i give her breastmilk.
then at 1pm i give her either veggies, or oatmeal for late lunch and milk after she eats so she can drink something.
then at 4:30pm she might want some formula to take a nap.
at 6pm or 7pm she eats fruit or veggies mixed with poultry or meat
