Hi Everyone! My name is Kate Michalsen. I am a graduate student at the University of Toledo working towards my Masters in Early Childhood Education. I have worked with children in multiple settings, including a day care center, as a nanny, and as a public school teacher. Currently, I am a stay-at-home mom and student! I am working on research that explores the Home Literacy Environment that moms create with a special interest in the Home Literacy Environments of Teen Moms. Basically, what do you do to promote literacy in the home? The information I gather will definitely be presented at conferences geared towards Early Childhood Educators. The information may possibly be used towards my Master's thesis and it is my greatest hope to eventually publish in an Early Childhood journal.
The survey is 10 questions and will take a few minutes to complete. After completing the survey, please feel free to share the survey link with anyone you know who is a parent to a child under the age of 8.
