red gums around front teeth??

Hi, my almost 9 month old has 5 teeth already. A few weeks ago when she was crawling she toppled onto her face and tore that little string under her upper lip that attches to the gum between the front teeth. The doctor said it would heal in a few days and not to worry because her top teeth weren't out enough to be affected. It did heal after about a week. I now can see that the gums on either side of her two front teeth and around her front teeth are really red and she is grinding her teeth. What I am wondering is if the teeth next to her two front ones are getting ready to come in, will the gums around the teeth already there get red as well?? Oh, and she chews on everything and doesn't cry which makes me assume that her front teeth don't hurt. If she never fell I would not be worrying as much as I am, but because of that tear I am driving myself crazy with worry that she damaged her front teeth :(

Thank you, the redness seems to come and go, and so I think you're right that it's probably her next teeth coming through. She has an appointment coming up so I will double check with her doctor then.

I would say it's probably just her new teeth coming in, but you may want to check with her doctor for peace of mind.
