After participating in 2 of those "why do people judge teen moms" bitchfests, I went into work last night and was reminded, yet again of just why this is typically a less than stellar idea.
The girl was 19, having her second baby (a 4 y/o at home). When I went into the room, she was sucking her freakin thumb, and would then wail like a banshee "MOMMY, MOMMY, MOMMY" when she would contract. SHe refused an epidural, because she's afraid of needles. ANd then, to complete my night, instead of getting up to use the bathroom, she just repeatedly peed in the bed, telling me she was "too tired" to get up. She also refused to lift her 250lb ass so I could at least change the pads under her...the stink was incredible! Despite telling her that she smelled, and that her baby should not be born in a pool of piss, she refused to budge.
After she delivered, she resumed her thumb sucking, and turned on the cartoon network. She did, however, take her thumb out of her mouth long enough to ask me if we did paternity testing....
