My two year old daughter was talking fine until about a week ago, i noticed that she struggles to get out what she wants to say. her father and i have to tell her to calm down and take her time but she still does it. She didnt have this problem before. Im very confused, is this part of the language development for some kids or should i consult her physician????

two of my children developed a stutter and by coincidence, it started after they both had surgery for grommets... the eldest one only stutters slightly now when she is over excited about something... the other has become quite severe and is being assessed by a speech language therapist... if in doubt, call someone in your local area and ask questions... it doesn't hurt...

I agree, that stuttering is a phase. Both of my children have stuttered and then grown out of it.

My daughter does the same thing I don't know if it is a phase I will be asking her pediatrician next week at her appointment I will let you know what her doctor says.

It is strange, but I do believe it is a phase. All three of my children developed stutters and lisps...they eventually learned to control their tongues and talk beautifully now. Hope this helps to ease some of your concerns:)

My son sometimes does this. I think that they are just trying to process what they want to say as they are saying it, so it takes a couple extra tries. Toddlers are still not very good multitaskers. However... I don't know that this is "normal" for all kids, and my son will be seeing a speech and language specialist next week. I would recommend you all do the same.

HOW STRANGE! last week my sun has started with a stutter like he gos my my my my dad and stuff like that ?? so i was wondering if i shold take him to health visitor?/
