I think this could be a great site, but we, the crafty moms, have to get it up and going. Just post a response to this to let me (and our administrator) know that you're out there and taking advantage of this site. Anyone have a home based business they want to share? Mine is

www.mommymadeitcreation.etsy.com

I can't wait to hear from others!!!! Mary Beth

I am starting my own online business that honours creativity but in a more spiritual way... Not sure if that addy is appropriate for here... However in reading this thread you guys have given me the courage if not the nudge to create another business that I have been thinking of doing for a while ... I think the title is likely to be magnetic personalities and it's magnetic kits of all descriptions for children. I've made a number for my boys already. Hmmm yes this idea is growing in my head thanks guys xx

I always look at selling my crafts as a way to support my 'habit'. Let us know if you start selling your stuff, Robin. Welcome to the group.

I just got here so I have a lot of catch up reading to do. Crafting is my wind down hobby. I haven't sold anything, but when someone needs something they call me. I'm hoping to perfect my card making and may sell some of those later.

Hi Lisa-I sell my items on Etsy, my site is www.mommymadeitcreation.etsy.com. I started selling items in December/January. The hardest part for me has been the advertising, but Etsy, overall, has been great. It has been very easy to use and everyone on there is so helpful. It costs 20 cents to list items and then you pay a certain percentage when the item sells. The items stay on your site for 4 months. Go check it out and see what you think. It doesn't cost anything to start there so you can set up a shop, see if your stuff sells and then go from there. If you have any questions just let me know, I'd be more than willing to help you out. Good luck. Mary Beth

I just got here and trying to catch up but I do read and I am always interested in new ways to market and network. I am on ebay, etsy (just started though) and my site is www.morr-sweetdesigns.com. Though I wish I had more time to work it, I just kind of threw it together and launched. I need to really work on it still.

Alayna-The hardest part is getting started and advertising. I've always told people that I thought selling my stuff would be like the Field of Dreams movies, instead of 'build it and they will come' my theory was 'sell it and they will buy it' which is a great thoery, but they can't buy it unless they know about it. Advertising is key!!! Right now I am testing the internet waters with an etsy site. I would like to start my own site but I thought Etsy would get my feet wet. It is user friendly and it has taught me a lot. It is Etsy.com if you want to check it out. You should set a shop up there and start selling your items until your own site is set up, then you can just switch over.

My mom gave me a really hard time about staying home when my first was born 12 years ago, but for me it was the best decision I made. You do what you feel is right for you and your baby. Motherhood is the hardest, most rewarding thing you will ever do. Good luck and let me know if I can help youi.

Hello! I just joined the group. I don't have an online business yet. I bought some web domain names and a friend is going to host my site's for me... but my website guy has been blowing me off... So my site's aren't built yet. Anyone know someone who builds site's for cheap?

Anyway... I am glad to be part of this group. I am into every aspect of the arts. I do everything from scrapping to sculptures to wood work. LOVE IT! Mother to a 1 month old... and I'm looking to stay at home with her while working from home on my online business's. My fiance and pretty much everyone else I know looks down on me for wanting to stay at home with my little Natalie bug... and they don't think I can run my own business's. I have total dedication to it... It's just hard getting started. I'm determined to make them eat their thoughts/words...

Hi, I work from home and often need to find innovative ways of keeping the kids busy when I have to work. The ideas are fantastic and the fact that there are also ideas for little hands makes the site as a whole a very pleasant and helpful site! this is my first time on the Crafty Moms Group, but I'll be back.
