My hubby and I have 6 kiddos. 3 bio, 2 adopted and one TFC. They range in age from 4 year old twins to 18 years old. Our foster son is MR. He is 10 but mentally more along the lines of a 3 year old. The twins are special needs as well. GDD, preemies, drug affected, mild CP, failure to thrive. Our 12 year old is ADHD. Then of course 2 teenage daughters. One is nothing but drama 24/7 and the other flies under the radar. My hubby just had major surgery and is off work til Christmas and I am soooooo stressed right now. Sometimes I feel like it is more than I could possibly ever do. Yet I do it daily! I also keep my 5 month old God-Neice while her parents work. She is a angel my little piece of sanity! Sometimes I need to vent or bounce ideas off folks without the judgment or the "you chose this life" speech..........

This is the place to vent. You are handling a lot but believe that God will provide you the strength you need to take care of these children that He has placed with you.Is there a family member or friend that can help you out especially while your husband is recovering? Even if its just running errands or helping out with the housework could be a lot of help.Stay encourage and make sure you take care of yourself while caring for others. God Bless you and good luck. You are in my prayers.Wow I just noticed this was posted 3 years ago. Well anyway, still Be blessed!!!

Thank God "you chose this life", because if you didn't where would the children be? That being said, what you need sister is some Calgone, and I'm serious. You need to find some "me" time anywhere you can. Take a class at your local craft store or community college. Join a book club at the library. Or just run to the matinee movie once or twice. And no excuses. If you don't take care of you, who will take care of them? And keep us posted here, we do understand where you're coming from, and will support you to the best of our ability. I can tell you that my biggest support for me is my faith in God. That's how I get through my days. Keep us updated on how you're doing.
