This has been my first year homeschooling, and it was been great! Far beyond what I had expected. I have one child...a daughter whom is six-years-old.
I was not raised in church, but my husband was. We work hand in hand because although we agree on all account's spiritually..I seem to look at things more joyously..I know what I came from. My husband, he's less joyful and more serious. God's Word should be the most important thing in our lives period! We now know, to teach our daughter not only basic fundamentals, but of God's Living Word.
I guess I'm just interested in meeting other mother's whom relate with myself...and may be interested in chatting (given we find the time ;) ) I could use the support! My mother help's hold me up...but much of our family is dead set against homeschooling and believe that we live "too old-fashioned" and far beyond what is actually expected of us. I'm getting tired of hearing all the critics!
Pray for us, and we will be praying for all you mother's out there...taking time for what's right for your children! Much in prayer!

In Christ,
Kayla

Kayla, definitely sending prayers. It's difficult when you get more flack from family than outsiders, but God will give you the grace to see it through if you follow His plan for your lives! :)

If you'd like to add me as a friend, feel free! (Both here and FB). Just remind me when you add as friend it's from Christian HS moms. I don't add a lot of "friends" anymore, so want to make sure you don't get ignored.

Always,
Tam

Hi Kayla, you are doing a very courageous thing by homeschooling your daughter. I completely agree with homeschooling. My son is only 14 months old, but I have every expectation of homeschooling him. I have created a playgroup of moms in my area who feel the same way. I am also the founder and principal of a small Christian Home school. For kids in kindergarten - fifth grades. I have the best of both worlds. I am able to work from home, teach, and spend valuable time with my son. I absolutely love it. I will pray that the Lord continues to strengthen you and your family.

God bless,
Tameka

I will definitely send prayers out your way! And I also get grief from others about how my kids should be in school for many reasons, social reasons are the biggest - and that we are also too old-fashioned. I would love to be added as a friend to chat - send me a request!

Hey Kayla!
I am a 38 yr old Homeschooling mom of my 4 (almost 5) yr old son! So it looks like I am the old lady of the
bunch and just a new at homeschooling. I have been blessed to have tons of friends who homeschool so we have been able to gleen the best stuff for us and feel we have a headstart because of this. Praise Him!
I would be delighted to have you as a friend here and on FB.
In Christ Alone!

Hi Kayla, I'm a homeschooling Mom of ten, ages 25 (she's married w/2 children), 20 (g), 17 (g), 14 (g), 12 (g), 10 (g), 8 (b), 6 (b), 4 (g), and new baby boy born this week. This is our 11th year homeschooling and we didn't receive ANY family support at all. But the Lord directed our paths and we chose to listen to Him rather than other voices. We are considered "old fashioned" as well. We dress modestly and our children play musical instruments and sing to the glory of God at various churches, festivals, and other community functions. We don't have television, though we do watch select videos and listen to conservative Christian and classical music. We also host annual Daddy/Daughter campouts every September. I would be happy to get to know you better, both here and on FB.

I am a homeschooling mother 0f 5. The LORD has recently convicted me greatly right along these lines. The word of the LORD usurps anything else in the area of education. There isn't a subject on the planet that means more. I too have faced criticism from "man" but I don't answer to man, I answer ot God. I am so pleased to hear of another woman who shares in my conviction. God is great!
