My daughter is almost a year and a half. For the past 3-4 months she has been having terrible tantrums. They can happen for almost any reason. Whether I hand her something in a way she doesn't like, if i read a book in the wrong voice, give her something she doesn't want, remove her from dangerous situations etc. They happen SEVERAL times a day and usually end in her screaming at the top of her lungs, holding her breath for 5-15 seconds, throwing herself on the floor, tensing up her entire body, throwing things and hitting. I have tried ignoring it, comforting her, removing her from the room. What do I do?

Little ones have a habit of overreacting because they don't have the capability to effectively communicate with us. Hang in there, mama.

Also, another thing to consider is the discomfort of growing out your molars. When our eldest was growing his, we experienced tantrums almost every five minutes. One of the things that helped us during those tough times was anticipating their needs. If you know your little one needs a nap, make it a comfortable/enjoyable environment for them. Most babies wake up hungry after a nap so keep snacks handy.

Good luck!
