Hi! My kids have a strict bed time routine from baby time, go to bath then bed. lately my 2 year old is making a big fuss when its time for bed, where it's usually a very easy going process she now cries a lot, although nothing is wrong. Unlike with my first born, I never had to sit with her to fall asleep, it was always very easy and they sleep in their own rooms since birth. I don't understand this change, can someone please shed some light for me on this?

Hi El-Ria, My daughter is the same. She had a very routine bed time and always loved to go to bed. When she turned 2 she started having difficulties going to bed (we also did bed to bath). We tried a completely new bedtime routine. Instead of bath then bed we would let her have her bath right after supper and right after her bath we would watch a movie. This was her last chance for grapes or a little popcorn before bed. She was allowed to stay up for the movie as long as she stayed nice on the couch. After movie time we would go in her room with her until she was comfortable and we would talk about our day. She couldn't sit for a book at the time so she would sometimes read a few pages to us or we would just make up what we think is going on in the book. We did a lot of singing at 2 and I also found that head rubs/back rubs also helped her to relax on those tougher nights. I hope this helps you with ideas as to get your girl back into a good bed time routine :)
