My son had the same thing for a week straight. He is 2 1/2. We ended up taking him to the emergency room for 105 temperature and they said he had a feveral virus. They even did a chest x ray and it was normal. They said it was just a virus.

How is your child's mood. cheerful?

i'd call the ped if a rash starts to appear on the trunk.

hands down roseola.

if the fever breaks and all of the sudden your child is a super crank and the rash is there, DEFINITELY roseola.

otherwise, babes get fevers from infections all the time. just a random virus.

It could be a number of things. Just make sure your little one stays hydrated. My son was running mild fever last night and today and had neon green bowel movement this morning. There is a bug going around

Just a side note: I think Tylenol will help more than antibiotic as that is not affective on viral bugs. I'm not sure why your doctor prescribed one...? Unless he's thinking it'll combat a possible ear infection maybe??? And ear infections do, in fact, cause fevers. It's one of the main symptoms. I guess I might have asked what the antibiotic was for myself. Just a few thoughts for you! I hope she's feeling better by tomorrow!

Well I took her to the doctor this evening and they seem to think its a viral Infection that needs to run its course. He also said it looks like she may be starting to get an ear infection but that isn't what is causing the fever I guess its just something viral I am giving her an anitbotic now and going to watch and see if the fever goes away in a day or so. He seems to think it will be followed with a runny nose and maybe a mild cold. So I will just have to keep and eye on her. Thanks everyone for all your help :)

i know this sounds odd, but my son just did the same thing and after a few days he got this rash and it was called fifths disease, which is just a fever and then just a rash, but no other symptons. You can look it up online and it will tell you more about it.

You are the third person I've heard of with this fever! My one year old nephew had it earlier in the week, my 2 yr old neice had it during this week (they didn't see each other) and then a friend's 7 year old son has it now. Sorry, no solutions but at least there are others in the same boat:)
