Wow my daughter is 20 months and eats a lot compared to ya'll's kids. She wakes up and has breakfast around 8ish and its a normal breakfast (ie: eggs and toast with fruit, bowl of cereal with fruit, waffles or pancakes with bananas and a little honey.) and a glass of milk, mid morning she has a snack of fruit and cheese usually with glass of juice from the juicer, lunch is a meat, veggie and a fruit with milk, then she has an afternoon snack usually of raw veggies or peanut butter and crackers with water, and dinner is a meat, a veggie and fruit with milk and before bed she eats a yogurt.

No rule, as long as you keep offering nutritious food and snacks throughout the day. It's up to your child to decide whether or not he/she's hungry.

i honestly believe that a solid routine helps children thrive and regulates their body.
the importance is timing - try and eat around the same time every day. when you do this, you train your body to feel hungry around the same time every day.
my dd is 3 and her routine is as follows:
7/715am breakfast (some fruit, milk, a protein (yogurt or egg) and a carb (usually whole wheat toast or bagel); cereal on other days
1030am-ish - snack - fruit or granola bar, maybe some yogurt
1130/1145am - lunch (could be sandwiches, maybe some pasta, leftovers etc) + fruit
nap around 1pm.
330/4 - snack (raw veggies, maybe some bear paws, milk, maybe a banana)
6pm - dinner (whever the family is eating) + fruit. if no nap, dinner is earlier.
8pm bedtime. if no nap, 7pm bedtime
hope this helps.

WOW! I am actually surprised by the lunch.
I guess coming from where I am, lunch and dinner is a normal cereal bowl of porrige or rice with pulses, meat, veg and soup. or noodles with fish etc.
And of course breakfast is a bowl of cereal or bread with cheese etc.
In between the meals, he has biscuits, cake, fruits and yes my son is 2 in december.
He is so skinny after all these that I can play harp on his ribs

i don't think there is really a normal. as long as he is growing well and happy and is eating healthy foods he's ok. My son typically eats 2-3 meals (breakfast isn't always successful) and 2-3 snacks plus lots of milk

My daughter just turned 2 and she will have a small cup of milk when she gets up at around 6-6.30am then will have breakfast at around 7am which some days will be either a piece of toast with vegemite or peanut butter or a bowl of weetbix sometimes she will have both.
mid morning she will have some fruit.
Lunch is around 11.30 which is usually a cheese sandwich made with one piece of bread and maybe some fruit and a cup of milk.
Mid afternoon she will sometime have another snack
We have tea around 5pm and will have whatever we are eating, occassionally she will have dessert which is a yoghurt or fruit.
She then will have a samll cup of milk just after 6pm before she goes to bed at 6.30pm
some days she eats less and other days she eats all day.
My 3 1/2 yr old son follows a very similar pattern.

Our son will be 2 on Halloween....here is his typical day.
630am: Cereal & 2 strawberries
9am: half a piece of Fruit (whatever is in season)
11am: 1 slice of bread, made into a sandwich.
11:30am: {naptime} 80-100ml warm milk
230/3pm: yoghurt
6pm: dinner (whatever we are having - I try to make it half or two thirds vegies). If he's still hungry, then he gets some fruit or a piece of cheese.
645pm: {bedtime} 80-100ml warm milk.
He LOVES his food!
He's about 30lb & 35inches.

My son will be two soon, and he has 4 meals/snacks each day.
Breakfast - bread with pb and honey, and a banana or applesauce
Snack - fruit and cracker and cheese
Late lunch - whatever leftovers I can find, like corn on the cob, etc, or I make porridge for him and mix it with yogurt to make a thick mixture he can eat by himself with a spoon.
Supper - whatever my husband and I are having
Sometimes I bring some raisins or cheerios along in the diaper bag for treats when we go out.
Some days he eats lots, and other days hardly anything. I think that's normal.
