My doctor told me that although many women will lose weight, some women's bodies will hang on to extra weight and calories for breastfeeding. Apparently I am the latter (unfortunately for me!)

I agree to a point Krystle my sister has been breastfeeding 10 months and actual gained weight, but that is because she isnt eatting well. As long as you are eatting a well blanced diet, and moving around breastfeeding should remove all the weight. I have had 3 kids, and lost all the baby weight within 6 months to a year. Three years is insane, if it takes you 3 years to lose weight you are doing it wrong, baby or not.

Just for a different perspective, I have been breastfeeding for 15 months, and it hasnt' helped me lose weight at all! It's different for everyone

If you feel like you can't find an answer to weight loss, I'd try going to a nutritionist. Exercise alone will not make you lose weight and there may be things you're doing that are preventing you from losing weight. Breastfeeding sucks the baby weight out of me very quickly so I can't really relate, but what keeps my weight on the lower end is not over-eating and keeping between meal snacks to a minimum. Good luck!

3 years??? thats not true if u work at it u can have it off in a few months depending on how much u gained obviously breast feeding is the best way to loose the baby weight i breast fed my youngest for 2 weeks (which is my third) yes i ate but mind u it wasnt much due to the fact i had a rough time after with pain etc.. but i still ate my 3 meals aday...when i got pregnant i was 160 i droped to 140 and gained 10 to 150 then after was 140 2 wweeks later was 126 so its very possible to loose the weiight in less then a year let alone 3 lol

when it comes to keeping it off just eat healthy and keep to average portion sizes walking regularly will help aswell being as active as u can is one of the best ways to keep weight off

I have been told that the weight that you gain while pregant won't go away for 3 years. You need to get a regiment of a workout suggesting with your baby so you have them involved. This will tirer them out and give you a workout. Eat the right food and a lot of fiber and calcium. Stay positive and stress free.

Unfortunately, there is no easy fix! It has to be healthy balanced diet and exercise. I gained nearly 80lbs with my first pregnancy, it is a year later and I have about 50 of it off, and 40 left to go!
