My son also have one on his stomach, I did get larger there for awhile. He will be two and friday and his is light pink and slightly raised. NO worries. God has made us all special. But I do understand the looks and questions.

Rebecca, THANK you so much. I need to hear that there is nothing really to worry about for right now. I know when I look back on this, it will be such a minor thing in the big picture of life, but as a mom, you know we worry about everything! =) Thanks again for your time to post your story.

my daughter was born with a rather large one on her head and quite raised. I was also told it would disappear by the time she was four. She is 20 months old and it is COMPLETELY gone. Mind you it got bigger for awhile there and then slowly got smaller now it is gone!

Hi Rhonda. My daughter is 3 months and it is on the crown of her head. It keeps growing more and more clusters and is about dime sized. Of course, she hardly has any hair so everyone notices it. I can see why you are concerned with it on his foot. Especially because he could really touch it there. Does the skin doctor see any concerns at all? Thanks for posting - it helps to hear other mothers are going through this - especially because most people don't have a clue what it is and have never heard of it.

I was born with one on my back. Luckily since I can't really see it, I always forget it's there :) The doctors told my parents it would be completely gone by the time I was 4 (I'm now almost 30!) and they were almost right. It has practically faded away. It's never really bothered me or caused any problems. I feel bad for some friends of ours who's son has one on his head. I've heard them being described to a child as an "Angel Kiss" before when trying to make them feel better if they were embarrassed. I thought that was cute. I'm sorry I wish I knew more about them.People in gym class used to ask me "WHAT HAPPENED?' and I would just say "I was born" :)

I am having the same problem with my 10 month old. But this one is on his foot. They told me it would go away in his own time. The problem we are having is it might break open when he starts to walk. I see a skin doctor every month to make sure its not getting worst or no other problems along with it. At this moment its the same size and color. If you dont mind me asking where is it at. If people look at my sons foot and ask question or even just look I tell them God gave him to me and he is my special gift if you dont like it then you dont have to look. If they ask question about it I answer them the best I can. I also tell them the name and they can find more information about it on http://www.webmd.com. I am sorry I havent been much help but all I can tell you is to Pray and God gave you this child as a gift and the hemangiomas just makes your child special.
