My daughters names are quite traditional, Shannon Vivienne Rose and Keira-Leigh Olivia. Baby books are great any name i liked i suggested to their dad and we agreed on Keira or Kieva for are 1st daughter but changed it at the last minute to Shannon and when our 2nd daughter was born Keira just seemed right.

Ingrid, Freya and Anya were all names we liked. I heard Greta recently and I just love that. Depending on your sister's likes, and the personality of her daughter when she makes her appearance, the options are endless. Classic names like Ellen and Jane are a little less common these days so there wouldn't be 10 of them in her class at school. Ethnic names from Scandinavian decent are the ones we chose from above. There are the androgynous names like Bailey and Hunter and stuff, but I'm not a huge fan of those.

Elise is a beautiful, classic name. Julia, Sarah, and Anna are timeless and Giselle is a lovely name.
I like strong, classic names for women that cannot be shortened into something "cute." This little girl could be our president in 4 or 5 decades, or run her own company. A name that is beautiful and inspires respect will go a long way in life.

I like the name Mia, but then one of my friends named her little girl Maia (pronounced Mi-ya). Now I kind of prefer that. My girls all had plain names, (Brittany, Amy and Emily). Now when I call Amy or Emily I call the wrong name half the time - the names are just too close together sound-wise. You could always try BabyCenter. I think they have a link for suggestions. Hope you find a good name.

"Malia" is nice. It is Hawaiian for "Mary" and it means "beloved" Pronounced Muh-LEE-ah

My daughter's name is Piper Penelope.  We got Piper from Charmed because my husband and I love that show and we got Penelope from the Odysey.  Penelope is Odesius' wife and while he's away she starts knitting his death shawl.  People are telling her that she needs to get remarried and she says she will when she finishes knitting.  Every night, she takes out what she knitted that day and does this for three years until she gets caught.  Anyway, when I was pregnant I was knitting this blanket for freakin ever and my Father in law used to always say that I was taking it out every night just like Penelope.  Anyway, my point is that both names have signifigance for us and thats how we decided.  So go for something with signifigance.  Maybe a character from a favorite book or show or a family member that you love dearly.  If all else fails, google baby names.  You'll come up with all sorts of stuff.  Thats how we ultimately decided on Calvin for our son's name.  I always wanted to name my son Christopher but I couldn't use that as a first name because I just knew that he would meet a million Christophers in his lifetime.  So we have Calvin Christopher.  We wanted names that weren't common but weren't weird.
