Hello,
I have noticed my 3 1/2 year old was different when he was about 18 months. We just thought it was speech delay. But i have noticed over the last 2 years that he has lots of symptoms of mild autism. I just need some opinions. I have contacted the doctor to get him tested.

His symptoms are...
flapping his arms (but doesn't do it all the time)
Walking on his toes
Picky eater
cant stand change
scared of loud noises
insomnia
emotional
speech delay
has hands in his mouth constantly
wont listen to you when he's intrigued in something
repeats questions you ask him or words you say

there are more things but cant think of them right now.

i would say that getting him tested is a good idea. some of the things you mentioned are common to kids with autism, but it's best to get a diagnosis from a doctor before getting too upset. i would suggest just trying to keep him on a routine and avoiding things that set him off for now.
