I am a new mom and My son is three month's old and I've noticed over the past week or so a lot of ear wax has been building up in his ears and some of it seeping out onto his outer ear. Is this normal??

As long as you've checked that it isn't affecting his hearing (clap your hands or ring a bell by each ear and see if he turns his head in that direction), it shouldn't be too much of a worry as ears are self cleaning. Gently wipe the excess wax from the outer ear with a warm cloth. If you are worried though do like Kristina says and ring your doctor for over the phone advice!

My 5 month has it too, but so does her dad so i just clean it out with a wash cloth regularly. No worries!

sound like an ear infection. i would get it checked by your doc. my son had something like that about two weeks ago and that's what it was. i would really call your doc. cause hearing a very young age is very important. i was told even just one day can take away from learning. but really i would have that checked out. but this is just my point of view. good luck hope it not that!

My son has a lot of ear wax too. My Dr said its fine as long as her can hear. His father has the same problem and it never bother him he just cleans them more often then most people.

My daughter is two and a half now and she does too. I don't know why and I don't know how much is to much or whats normal, but don't stress. Mention it at the doctors next visit if you are concerned. Or better yet just call and they can usually tell you over the phone if its a problem.
