We bought our daughter the Step 2 dollhouse. It is AWESOME!! It came with doll furniture and can be used for Barbies or any other similar doll. Our daughter also loves the Candy Land Candy Castle game. It is very basic and can be an early introduction to colors and shapes. It is played very much like a bingo/matching game. She is now almost 5 and still plays the game. The Fisher Price laptop is also a great purchase. My daughter used to play with hers so much, she ran down the buttons on it. It is geared for 2-4 years of age and a great learning tool.

blocks like lego or duplo ! as we call it here in aus ... very good for their developmental learning and experiancing ! books .... and yeah maybe have alook on the net ! dvds are always good just as long as they are not always thrown in front of it .... good luck with it all and bubs !

i got my son a v smile when he was 2 and he loved it he still plays with it and the games help him learn and for those moments u need a break she can play while you get other things done i does take a time or 2 to show them how some of the games work but the older sis could help and theycome with 2 controllers so they can both play and learn like i said when i need a break my 19 month, 5 and 9 year olds all play with it still congrats on the new little one my 19 month old was due on the 25th and your rigth the mall is the last place you'll want to be in dec lol and good luck

My daughter got a doll house and one of the little radio flyer tricycles when she turned 2! Both items were very used and in fact, the dollhouse still is! She's 4 1/2 now and too big for the trike.

Thanks for the ideas. I didn't mention that she has an older sister so she has pass me downs & "sharing" toys such as a pretend kitchen and a Dora 4-wheeler. But the laundry ideas were something that I had never thought of. She loves to "help" me do laundry so I think that would be a wonderful toy.

Maybe one of the mini power wheels fourwheelers??! the have dora, disney princess & tinkerbell...they're not too expensive and for ages 1-3 (walmart/target/toys-r-us)

Does she like Dora the explorer or Elmo or something like tht? Coz i know there is heaps of toys and dolls of them also a duvet cover set is always gud. I agree with the other mums who have replied 2 pretend things like washing machines, kitchens all the adult stuff just plastic. they washing line idea is gud i remember my dad making me one whn i was little and i did the same 4 my son who loved it. you dont have 2 go all out on it either just get some posts and rope and make it urself, buy sum pegs and get some buckets so she can wash her dolls clothes and hang them up. it will keep her busy while u do ur own washing 2 which will help when u have ur newborn which is a plus. the other ideas i have is things tht u put in a special box like card games 4 kids, colouring books and felts or pencils and puzzles tht u get out for wot i call "mummy n me time" when u do and activity 2gether i do tht with my son he has some learning puzzles tht match up wit certain numbers or shapes or colours.

has she got a dolls pram/pushchair? if not maybe get her one of those. they now look just like mummys pram/pushchair.

maybe a toy washing line that she could hang her dolls clothes on when they have been put in the washing machine.



sorry i cant be any more help but i have a 2yo boy and am wondering what to get him as hes just had his birthday and got HEAPS of car and trucks
