We always do a cut and paste style craft for every holiday. Christmas I cut a tree and some circles and he glued them on to decorate it, heart for valentines day, pumpkins for halloween etc.

We made crabs; trace each hand and cut out, cut out a circle for the middle, glue each hand on either side of the circle for legs, add googely eyes and decorate with glitter, crayons etc.

Get 2 small paper plates, put beans or rice in them and staple together with a popsicle stick out the bottom for a handle, decorate with stickers etc and you have a maracca(sp)

Get a clay pot and let him paint it, spray with clear spray paint to seal it and you have a planter that your baby made!

Give him different kinds of noodles, beans etc. and let him glue them onto a piece of paper or even a small piece of wood. He can paint them or leave them how they are. You could do the same thing and make a picture frame of popsicle sticks and he can glue them on that.

We do a letter/number of the week and cut it out of paper and decorate (feathers, stickers, glitter,)

Decorate a shoebox for all of his special things. (we made a monster box to trap them for my son)

paint rocks, sponge paint, playdough, paint with pudding, introduce scissors and markers

The finger paint is always good! And it teaches them about how mixing different colours makes new colours.

What about clay? It helps them learn how to use their hands better.

Any cut & paste. It makes them feel independant doing that kind of thing. And having them use safety scissors always helps them with using their hands.

What about making sock puppets or something like that? It's cheap to do and fun! You can also make a day out of by doing a little puppet show or if you're feeling ambitious making a set for the puppet show too.

The list goes on and on! Good luck & have fun!!
