development delays in toddlers and also trying to toilet train?

My son is turning 3 years old and has recently been told he has a couple of development delays. I am trying to toilet train him and want to know the best way to go about it?

thank you for replying to my post so quick. so he really does need to be ready. What things did you try at 2/12 for the toilet training?

hi my son has delayed speech he was 3 in april and is getting help for this i tried toilet training him at 2 1/2 but he just wasnt ready and was told it could be down to his speech delay. then during the 6weeks holidays he got up took his nappy off and went to the toilet himself he still wears a nappy at night and on days out but when at home and nursery he uses the loo!! also i found he only had accidents when wearing underwear so he goes comando just wearing tracksuit bottoms when were out and he doesnt wear anything at home he also thinks flushing the toilet is fun so we encoraged him to go to the loo so he could flush it i hope this helps at 1st i thought he would never come out of his nappies now he loves using the loo.
