Do you nurse? Breast milk will clear it up - or at least take away the pain - super fast.

My mom always did this and ive donr it with my son.....brown flour on the stove....put the flower in a non-stick skillet over medium heat and stir until it turns brown...let it cool and put it on like baby powder....and the other moms are absolutely right about letting it air dry...moisture is your #1 enemy when it comes to diaper rashes!

A few years ago, I fell in love with a natural skincare line called Yes To Carrots. Then they came out with a baby line (called Yes to Baby Carrots) which includes diaper rash cream. Walgreens, Walmart, Target and drugstore.com carry a lot of the products from both lines. drugstore.com has the best price on the diaper cream ($6.99 usd last time i looked). luckily my daughter doesnt get diaper rash too often, but this stuff seems to heal the rash within a day at most! And she doesnt scream with it like she does with desitin!

Side note: I also like the body butter (my daughter's pediatrician said he thought it would be ok to use it on her at 4 months old) and the cucumber facial wipes for yourself!

When my kids didn't respond to the destin or butt paste a nurse had me try A&D Ointment and it does good when the others don't.

sounds nuts but if you mix corn starch ,malk of magiega ,and 1 tube of desiton works wonderfull ex if she has diareeah ...good luck try it ..mix and get to a paste

I use and swear by this product...I've only been able to find it @ walgreens. It's called TRIPLE PASTE. It works very quick. My cousin told me about it. She moved to kentucky and has had my aunt ship it to her because she can't find it there and rfefuses to use anything else. You can also go www.sumlab.com or call 1-800-533-SKIN. You see results quick and it eases their pain quick.

Have you ever tried Boudreaux's Butt Paste? Another mom suggested it to me. Her son suffered from major diaper rash and it worked wonders for her baby. We put it on my daughter, who also has sensitive skin, and the redness goes down by the next diaper change and disappears by the end of the day or next morning. It has worked awesome for us. Aveeno is a great suggestion. Is it a diaper rash or a yeast infection? If it is a diaper rash, use only A&D ointment or other petroleum base to keep the moisture away. If possible, keep her diaperless. After a bath keep her wrapped in the towel rather than putting on the diaper. Air will be your friend.

I would suggest not giving her too many baths, the wetness will help the rash to grow! Let her have free time like others have said! You can use bag balm and I have heard of people using triple anti-biotic ointment if they get bad ones! I don't have many problems with rashes cause I cloth diaper. I use fitteds and wool covers they are very breathable and so we don't get rashes unless we change detergents or something like that! My son has extremely sensitive skin. My son's ped gave us a recipe for 'magic baby butt paste' and it works like a charm! It fairly inexpensive once you have mixed it all together and then compare the amount you have to other diaper creams. I'll list the recipe and I hope it helps!!



1 tube Desitin

1 tube A&D Ointment

1 tube Bacitracin

1 tube Lotrimin AF

4 Tsp Maalox



I usually go to WalMart or Target and buy the offbrands (exact same composition) and then mix it in a smaller tupperware with an airtight lid and it lasts months! Hope this helps!

I always used corn starch on my sons diaper rashes and it would clear up within like thirty minutes or so.

Don't know if you took her to the dr yet or not. But my son gets bad diaper rashes. 2 things work for me. Let air dry as long as possible and get some Lotrimin. It works wonders!!

Let her free! Don't put a diaper on right away, you may have to clean up some little messes but thats the life of a mom. Having as much air to her bum is important and put diaper rash cream on while she is naked. This will help the diaper cream soak into the skin better. Another thing is many moms forget the fact that it could also be a reaction to the brand of diaper. We tend to want to stick to our favorite brand but again its not about us its what works for your child. Try switching her diaper brand, some diapers put a slight fragrance in their diapers which can cause lots of irratations for some babys if they are sensitive to it. Huggies now makes a natural diaper that is free of any fragance and is made with less dyes, it may be alittle more expensive. Give it a try and remember doctors will only suggest baths or give you a doctors type of diaper cream, they really can not do anything else because of the babies age.

aveeno sells a baby bath powder...calming bath soak w/oatmeal. our son could tolerate the baths more and it would soothe his skin a bit if he had a rash or eczema flare.



also, keep her diaperless and let the bum dry out! slather on a lot of aquaphor, blot it so it doesn't smear everywhere, put a few sheets down and let her bum get a break from the diaper. having any pee/moisture against her skin will only aggravate the rash.



finally, some people swear by diaper creams w/calendula in it. california baby has one that can be found at target. if you want to try it, put it on first, since it's for restoring the skin. then put on the aquaphor, which will help protect the skin from further irritation from rubbing, the diaper, clothes, etc.
