Take on of those bandages that you would use on a spranged wrist and wrap it around you chest as tight as you can it will be painfull but it works

I did have a fair amount of discomfort, but I quit gradually like my nurse recommended. Do you have a pump? If so, maybe just pump once or twice a day for a few days so you don't get such a build up of milk. It's possible you could get an infection, so call your doc if you have any redness, extreme pain, or a fever! I was told I could take some Ibu or Tylenol for the discomfort, or a warm compress. I know, it hurts!!! Good luck!

I would just to bepatient! I did the same thing a few months ago..at one point, it seemed like it would never go away--but it will, soon. Try not to express any milk. Your body will realize it doesn't need to produce any more as time goes on. As long as you have quit slowly, you shouldn't have any problems!

It takes a while, I stopped when my son was 8 months and I had milk for about 3 months after...not a lot just when I would sleep some would leak through.
I used COLD cabbage leaves for the pain and tylenol....after a week or so the swelling should go down. Hang in there it will get better:)

I tried decreasing the pumping by one every couple of days thing that was mentioned above, finally getting down to once a day and then none. Yeah, then they filled right back up and were hard as rocks for about a week. Then one morning I woke up and they were flat as pancakes. It is painful but it will go away.

I was told to put cabbage in my bra the green leafy parts. Also ask your OBGYN I believe there is a medication that can help dry you out. I breastfed for 12 months and the cabbage worked...smelled a little funny and takes about 2 weeks, but if you don't want to pump because it brings the milk back..try the cabbage or talk to your doctor...good luck

To reduce the pain you can self express VERY SMALL amounts which will relieve the pressure. But don't express anymore or you send the signal to keep producing. Also use cold packs to help with the swelling too...but it will take some time. If you stopped cold turkey it'll def. take time. Another option is to pump and dump (or donate to a milk bank) and decrease by one pumping session every couple days - that will make it less painful and probl. help control some of the leaking too.

Sudafed can help dry up your milk supply if you don't mind that route. Other people give mixed reviews on using cabbage leaves to help. My combo-hormone b.c. pill dried mine up. Lots of options- good luck :)
