Hard time getting rid of the pull up at night

I am writing to see if anyone has any suggestions for getting a 5 year old boy who wears pull ups at night to stop wearing pull ups and be fully potty trained! He has been potty trained during the day and naps for over 2 years but we just can't get him to be dry during the night....I cut off liquids early, wake him 2-3 times a night and he still wakes up wet. I don't know if I should be concerned or just assume that he will grow out of it. He is embarrassed of it and says he doesn't know when he is doing it - peeing at night. He does not wake up to go to the bathroom unless I wake him. Help - please!!!
