Has anyone ever seen these symptoms in their child?

For the stool sample: turn the Pull Up inside out. The outside isn't absorbant like the inside. Because of the crystals that soak up urine in the Pull Up it would compromise the sample if you just brought in the Pull Up.

We are going thru the same thing with my 9month old daughter. Three weeks so far...vomiting, diarrhea no fever snd now can keep anything down and water diarrhea. We had test ran todsy as well but haven't been able to get stool sample bc there's nothing for her to digest she hasnt been eating. Our dr said to cut leg holes in a walmart sack and place it over the diaper. The hospital suggests wrapin the daiprr in plastic wrap so diaper can't soak it up. We've tried three different formulas but today she won't try anything or keep anything down and we are at home hoping to catch a stool sample. Drs suggested the stomach bug and gave us zofran but did not work now we are stumped and praying we have answers soon

Oh, and I forgot to add, you should try giving him the BRAT diet - bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. Try to avoid things that could possibly upset his stomach - acidic or fiber-rich foods - as they will only add to your problems and prolong the diarrhea. And also, if it is a virus that he has, there is really nothing anyone can do medicinally, except to keep him hydrated, which it sounds like you've been doing since he wasn't admitted at the hospital when you took him.

Bring the stool soaked pull-up to the doctor as the sample, hopefully they can get what they need from it. And I second Liz's advice, disinfect as much as you can. Poor little guy, good luck!

Back in January my little girl had a stomach bug that lasted 3 full weeks. She barely ate, vomited, had diarrhea the whole time. She gave it to me twice (I was pregnant at the time and lost 8 lbs) and to her Daddy once. We took her to the doctor. They told us to try our best to keep her hydrated and that it could last up to 3 weeks, which it did. All she wanted was milk, which is not what she needed to be drinking at the time. We gave her whatever she asked for to eat and hoped that it stayed down. Thankfully she doesn't eat junk food so we didn't have to worry about her wanted that kind of stuff.

I will tell you that it will eventually go away but yes do keep in touch with your child's doctor to keep them in the loop of what is going on just in case it does turn serious. Good luck.

I would call that doctor back or just take him again to emergency, and request treatment. Is the rest of the family besides or son still sick?

I can't say that I've had the same thing happen, but I do have a son that continually gets diarrhea for no apparent reason and we have a HARD time getting rid of it. I usually have to cut milk completely out of his diet for a few days and he only drinks water or gatorade (or pedialyte). Disinfect EVERYTHING. Change sheets often. Put dirty diapers or pull ups outside in the trash immediately. Do whatever you can think of to get rid of germs. Clean all the doorknobs in your house with a disinfecting wipe. Wash toys that he regularly plays with. If, after a couple of days, nothing is helping, call your doc back and tell them that you are setting up an appointment and not leaving until they do something! Good luck!
