My 1 year old fell and got a skull fracture on Wednesday and I'm worried. He is also cutting 6 teeth and has a cold with a runny nose and cough. Poor little guys is a mess. I want to know if you took them back to the Dr. for anything and if so what was it. I'm monitoring my son and I'm not sure if he is 100%.

Oh ok thats good to hear. I'd love to show you the pics of my sons head! they are incredible! But the only reason i asked about his runny nose is that they told us ( although he didnt have a cold) that it could be fluid from the brain or something like that. But your son just sounds like he is having a really rough time. And i hope he gets better soon for you. Our hospital sent us home they never kept him in due to it already having been 24 hrs since the accident before he got the right medical treatment. He is back to his normal rough happy self now!

if you don't think he's 100%, go w/your gut. never make excuses for bringing your child back to the doctor.

Thanks so much! He did have a CT scan and MRI and he also had bleeding of the brain and swelling. We had to spend two days in the hospital. His runny nose is yellow/green not clear.

My son fell and fractured his skull around 5 weeks ago. Our local Dr never did anything. I took him for a second opinion to find out he had a fractured skull. he was then sent for a CT scan. Has your son had this? And we found he had a small bleed on the brain. Is the runny nose clear or mucusy? Clear could be something more then just the cold.

What did the Dr's tell you as in follow up care with you son? As we had to keep our son fairly still for 3 weeks following the fall. And not allow Any bumps even minor to the head.

If you are worried i would take him to your Dr or hospital depending on how bad you think it might be.

My daughter never got a skull fracture but fell through a glass table when she was about 9 months old. I felt like the worst mom ever for letting it happen but was informed by the doctors at the hospital that this kinda thing happens more then you think. She was fortunaly ok and didnt have to go back for anything! My kids doctor always tells me that if i had any doughts to call or take my kids in. So I would say that if you think he isnt 100% call your doctor and tell them all the things you are worried about!! Better safe then sorry... Good Luck and I hope your little man feels better soon!!!!!!
