she sees the spoon and runs. Only thing that she will eat are little gerber graduate snacks on her own, other than that, she simply refuses and runs away from anything, tried vegetables to pick up on her own sausage, cheese, nothing. Starting to get worried. She has so much energy, that is crazy to think where it come from. O

My 11 month old is the same way so when he's not eating finger foods I supplement with smoothies. His favorite follows:
1 avocado
1 strawberry greek yogurt
1/2 -1 cup coconut milk
blend, bottle and enjoy! (you may need to make the hole in the nipple a bit larger)

Keep offering healthy foods you know she likes and even new things you want her to try. At 1 a spoon to her is merely a toy, too; it's nothing she has mastered at this age/stage. Continue to offer silverware but don't worry if she doesn't use it. Try and provide as much finger food as you can, and eventually she'll start trying to imitate you and use the fork/spoon. Too, if you offer a variety that she can choose from, she may eat a little of this and a little of that. I'd make sure she knows that she eats at meal times, not all the time. If she realizes that once lunch is over she has nothing until a small snack mid-afternoon and then dinner, she'll eventually learn to eat when the food is put before her. I've seen my kids go through periods of not eating a lot to times when I wondered if I could ever satisfy their appetites. This could just be one of those times for your daughter, and in a day or so she could start eating everything in front of her. The key is to keep offering healthy choices and modeling for her.

My daughter is 1 and does the same thing sometimes. You just have to have patience and keep offering them food. If she gets hungry enough she will eat, she won't starve herself trust me. But you also need to make sure she gets at least some food in her. My rule is you MUST eat one of everything on your plate whether you want to or not. I find my daughter puts her hands in front of her mouth but if I hold her hands down from her face she eats willingly. Just keep trying, she will come around. Mine hated solids at first but now eats pretty much everything. Good luck! Message me if you want :)
