My son is almost 2 years old and he really won't eat anything. He loves his fruits, some veggies, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and baby food still. I give him something new and he gags and spits it back out. Can anyone help me please? He use to eat really well and was off baby food and now he won't touch that food again. Any advice would be helpful!

At around the same age my daughter stopped eating many things she had enjoyed a lot up until that point. Her pediatrician put her on a multi-vitamin so until he starts eating a better variety you may want to see if your child's pediatrician thinks that would be a good idea.

does he seem to have texture sensativities? are there other sensativities he has? maybe if you just slowly work up to more solid foods. mix in chunks with is smooth foods, add in 1 new food at a time adn if he does not eat it don't make a big deal about it but don't make him something else either. don't feed into the pickiness. if it is a sensory thing you may want to check with ped or work on textures on other levels like using playdoh, sand table, let him playh with jello, silly putty, finger painting. try soups they may work for you and you can get lots of nutrients into soup. Good luck

As long as he is getting his vitamins and main and is willing to eat what you posted he should be good and healthy =) give him time and he will soon want to eat all the things we do, all kids go through a phase but they eventually grow out of it so be patient

We sing songs to get her to try it... My daughter loves the children show "Yo Gaba-Gaba" they have a song on there that sings "Try it, you'll like it......." Works every time!

My son has become a fussy eater as well, but I have found the best thing for me is to not force the issue. I keep introducing it over a period of time and then one day he surprises me by trying it. From what I understand there are some kids that will stick to certain foods and want those all the time and it is very hard to change them, all I do it put something new on his plate with the usual things he eats. The other thing I have noticed is that my boy copies his dad alot so sometimes if he sees daddy eating something he wants to try it too. I think you shouldn't let it stress you because if he sees you are getting frustrated by it and it becomes a fight then meal times will be very difficult and he won't want to eat. If you're relaxed and happy at mealtimes he'll be too. I don't know if this will help but good luck.
